After the Daphne arc, Gray is still acting weirdly and his behaviour seems to correspond with Midnight who is currently locked in prison. After Gray breaks Midnight out and the two mages embark on a quest that they don't even understand, Cobra is forced join up with Team Natsu to track down their errant friends and solve a prophecy that ties two seemingly unconnected mages together

Hide is a pharmaceutical prodigy student close to creating a drug that allows ghouls to create the enzymes they need to break down human food, but suddenly his life's in danger by a greed-corrupted CCG who (afraid they would loose funding and have to cut back higher ups pay and investigators jobs) are determined to assassinate Hide before he can finish his work. It was very different, in a sense, to not have to fear for his life or the safety of those close to him every passing moment. It was nice, almost pleasurable. But Kaneki had forgotten what pleasure felt like, so he couldn't be entirely sure. He wondered how long it would last. [AU in which Hide and Kaneki have never met and ghouls are slowly and painfully integrating into society.]

Natsu and Gray have been forced to complete a quick simple mission together. That is until they are attacked, knocked unconscious and forced to be put on auction for slave owners and crazy scientists. Now they have to stick together for support and strength because if they dont, they may never see their Guild again.
