I used to write Fushigi Yuugi fanfiction under a different name. This was many years ago, and it seems the community is somewhat changed now. Point is, if you should recognize a character somewhere, then yes, that was probably written by me. Please disregard.

I haven't much had much interest in fanfiction for several years, but Fushigi Yuugi has stuck in my brain and nagged me for all that time. So here I go, back into the fray.

Why do we write fanfiction? Because world creation, compelling character creation is the hardest part of the job. Only once you can see the edges of the sandbox can you play, I guess. I must admit I don't have any respect for it, but people made their livings making up new stories about Spider and Coyote and Bre'er Rabbit for centuries. This is my exercise in story-spinning, but it is also my curse.
