Cold, dark, and unfriendly.
It creeps upon you like a wind.
Not dissipating into the stillness of nature.
Coming upon you like a shrill silence.
It Sends unrefreshing chills.
Loneliness breaks your heart and your sanity.
Diminishing your relation with friends.
With family.
With love.
Loneliness surrounds us,
Waiting 'til we dread it most.
Charging us and swallowing us.
Its deep dark hole of depression, fear, regret, and death.
Loneliness carefully contemplates its every victim.
Thoroughly, anxiously . . .
