Nananananananananananananananana BATMAN!

Hey all, my name's Meagan and I've been a fanfiction connoisseur for quite a while now. I'm a third year university student and I'm thoroughly in love with literature. I know I can come off as abrupt, especially in my reviews, but believe me, if I leave you a review it is 100% NOT an attack on your or your writing style. I write reviews to help you all improve! I'm also a very thorough beta reader. If I write you a review, it means one of three things:

1) I LOVED your story more than life itself and it will probably remain in my memory for the rest of eternity. These reviews will be short.

2) You're a good writer, and I quite enjoy your story, but there are some small areas in which you can improve. I'm a stickler for inconsistencies, so I'll point them out just so you can fix them and create a 100% perfect work! These reviews will be mid-length.

3) Your writing has potential, but is on the poorer side. There are many inconsistencies, but I like the premise of your story and the general direction of the plot, so I'm leaving a long review to try to get you on the path to improvement. It'll be a long road, but I know you can do it!

That said, I'm certainly not perfect. I prefer reading and writing AU stories because, obviously, the original cannon cannot be changed by you, the writer, but your own world certainly can! AU stories can be interesting and beautiful, like painting a picture of a figure from scratch. Obviously, you're painting something that exists outside of your own imagination, but you're doing it in your own way with your own hands. This is much better than painting by numbers (i.e. within the cannon) in my opinion.
I also really love the adventure and hurt/comfort genres. Hurt/comfort can be overdone, and it's really easy to tell if the author is trying too hard. But done well, hurt/comfort leaves some of the most lasting emotional impacts of any of the genres. Adventure is always nice because I do enjoy action! A little bit of romance thrown in goes nicely with this mix, but I prefer it to be kept low key... a chapter or two max should do it.

And finally... I'm a terrible, terrible writer. I'm trying to improve, but it's not as easy an endeavor as one would think. I've been devouring literature for so long, it's quite sad that I'm still unable to write a decent story at this point. :/ Aye, there's the rub... I'm atrocious at writing myself, yet as a critic of literature I don't think I'm half bad. Well, I suppose you all will have to decide for yourselves!

If you'd like to give me a try as a Beta, I'm pretty good at getting everything read and critiques as quickly as possible. Believe me, I'm not letting you publish anything with a single grammatical error or inconsistencies of any sort.
Sorry if my reviews are a little too scathing. Like I said earlier, I really try to make them supportive as well as critical. If I give you a review, take it as a compliment, it means I think you're good enough to deserve one and you actually have potential to improve.

Be as mean to me as you want, I won't take it personally. Whether it's a critique or just flaming, I take everything into consideration.

I adore Batman, X-men, certain anime and manga, and other varieties of comics. I love anthropology and Chinese! It's such a wonderful language.

Thanks for your time!
