An unexpected twist of fate brings Mr. Darcy to a place he never imagined himself patronizing and where he once again crosses paths with Miss Elizabeth Bennet. A kiss in the heat of the moment changes the course set out for the couple as Elizabeth and Darcy are forced make an effort to be more open with each other. What will happen as they try to get to know each other properly?

Mr Darcy is not able to see Elizabeth on the evening that she does not go to dinner at Rosings and as a result the disastrous Hunsford proposal never takes place. The next day when hoping to meet her on her morning walk he instead overhears a conversation with Charlotte which leads him to rethink his approach...

A pride and Prejudice story. Starting in Hunsford, Elizabeth is not allowed to stay home from tea and so Darcy's ill-fated proposal is prevented however Elizabeth is too angry to remain silent.

What if Jane and Elizabeth had not been in Meryton to meet Wickham? What if they had spent some additional time with Darcy and Bingley that day instead? And what if in a moment of weakness, or courage, Darcy allowed Elizabeth to glimpse his growing feelings for her? How might all of their paths have been different from the story we know and love?

A second glance at Elizabeth, and Darcy felt an immediate pull. In a library one evening, his guard dropped, and he couldn't help himself. It was not a lady's imagination that led a rapid jump from admiration to matrimony skipping over love, but it was rather the heated actions of both. Deep feelings tend to get in the way when hidden and can undo the potential for happiness.

What if Elizabeth had overheard the conversation about herself and her family while she was staying at Netherfield? How might her reactions and the outcomes change if she knows early on Darcy admires her eyes and Bingley's family is opposed to Jane? Regency setting, multi-chapter story, WIP. Rated T to be safe.

Elizabeth Bennet had often been called an excellent walker, and so she was; but even she would own that there was some small risk involved in taking such solitary walks.

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

A P & P variation where we wonder what might have happened if Elizabeth had not overheard Mr. Darcy's caustic remarks at the assembly. Would she still have seen him as arrogant, conceited and having a selfish disdain for the feelings of others? Would her lack of initial disgust change the way he behaved in Hertfordshire? I hope my attempt to answer these questions entertains.

It turns out that Mary Bennet does not care for being publicly humiliated by her father at the Netherfield Ball, and her reaction has far-reaching consequences. This story is moderately high angst, has a pretty bad beginning for the Bennets, and a long road to happiness., but it is several adventure stories in one along with the occasional bit of romance. (NOW COMPLETE - YAY!)

Darcy's horse casts a shoe while riding to Pemberley which causes him to miss encountering Elizabeth Bennet who is touring the estate. Thus he is unable to show her his change in behaviour, fails to learn of her improved opinion of him, fails to meet the Gardiners, and fails to learn what happens to Lydia. (Updates on hold for a week or two)

This is not about Elizabeth and Darcy, it is about Colonel Fitzwilliam and Elizabeth. It is complicated and bittersweet; there is tragedy and maybe a little hope and love. Not for everyone. Rated M.

First Lizzy had learned of Mr. Darcy's hand in breaking Jane's heart, and then he had offered the most insulting marriage proposal in history. Could a day get worse? Only if she were to be threatened at sword-point, tied up, and whisked away by a rogue, with only the world's most arrogant man to watch over her. Luckily, that wasn't very likely to happen...

The Gardiners' trip to The Lakes is not postponed and Elizabeth never visits Pemberley.

Elizabeth is slightly more perspicuous and thoughtful, and does not fall for Wickham's story, leading to an earlier resolution to a attachment to Darcy. Mrs. Gardiner also plays an expanded role.

Shamelessly conceived after reading CheshireSorrow's Liberties Taken (May I suggest you read it). Warning, it is a little risqué for 1813. Mr Darcy finds himself in a rather sticky situation during the Meryton Assembly. Not yet introduced to Miss Bennet, they find themselves compromised and made to marry. And so the fun begins. When Elizabeth and the Gardiners visit Pemberley a year early, a bond of friendship and sisterly love forms between Elizabeth and Georgiana. The repercussions of this meeting change completely the way Elizabeth and Darcy interact once they finally meet.

Elizabeth never meant for this to happen. One mistake-one simple mistake-and her life had unraveled around her. Now, on a path she never expected or wished for, she must learn about herself, about the things that are lost along the way to who we will become, and about the power love has to heal as well as to harm. After such a mistake, can she truly ever be happy again?

Georgiana comes with Darcy to Netherfield. Elizabeth thinks Jane would be an ideal wife for Darcy, but Darcy himself has other ideas after seeing her interact with his hurting sister. The curate's words haunt Darcy, "So, perhaps, young master, you were born a Darcy because you were not strong enough to be born a farmer." These words ringing in his ears Pemberley's young master struggles to act on the good principles he has been given.

When an unexpected event disrupts the Netherfield ball, Mr. Darcy finds out that leaving Hertfordshire and Elizabeth Bennet behind is more easily said than done.
