Author has written 2 stories for Chronicles of Narnia. Hello, Everyone! I've been on fanficdotnet for a while. I'm a lurker... I prefer to admire the work of other people who have quite a lot of talent than post my own work. However, I'm trying to get back into the swing of writing for fun again. We'll see how successful that is. Basically, I really enjoy writing. I enjoy reading good fanfiction. I enjoy writing my own fanfiction. That a difference between the two exists does not escape me. Then again, that's sort of the point. Stories you really should read The reason I ended up joining ff was because I had read so many stories that were good. And I mean really, really good. I may or may not have printed them out to re-read several dozen times. I advise everyone to read these. Maybe that way they can see some well-deserved revival. Forward by Peptuck, a fascinating Firefly fanfic. The Lost Chronicles of Narnia: The Beast of Witherby by emeraldteardrops, in a favorite literary setting. Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality by Less Wrong. It's brilliant. I don't care if you don't care a fig for Harry Potter (though you should at least appreciate that giving fanfiction his world is like opening a sweet shop to a small child), you would love this fic. Dalton by CP Coulter, a Glee fanfic of surprising quality. Legend of Zelda: The Return by Rose Zemlya. Read it. Read everything she's written. Go to fictionpress and read her originals. Her stories are the reason I became interested in fanfiction. They are fantastic. They are worth the read. I have preferred genres (don't we all?) and preferred universes, but stories within those restrictions are not always the best stories out there. I can say that in my opinion, the above five authors have shown uncommon talent and dedication to their stories, as well as uncommon respect for the integrity of their characters. Within each of their genres, these stories and their authors have become noticed, and spawned spin-offs of their own work and AUs. Such is fame in fanfiction. Lemon Yellow Crayon |
