Elizabeth Bennet and Fitzwilliam Darcy have been living happily ever after. Then the unthinkable happens and in the midst of illness, grief and death Elizabeth faces a threat from those who should be friends. She must decide what she is wiling to do in order to preserve her beloved Pemberley and if she is desires or deserves a life of her own after everything that has happened.

He, unencumbered with guardianship and estate responsibilities and she, before years of meddling and matchmaking have taken their toll. So many novels end with the promise of marriage, and so few describe what happens after. I've often wondered about this particular wedding night, but frankly, Mr Darcy has changed so much by giving him some human feelings, I cannot imagine him, or Elizabeth, fumbling secretly in the dark anymore. Their first efforts must be heart-warming, their married life as well. Purists beware!

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Darcy and Elizabeth first meet and form a friendship months after Jane marries Bingley. The words of a friend can cut deeper than those of an enemy...can their friendship survive or will it turn into something more?

What if the Colonel did not go to Rosings and Darcy's proposal was less harsh and a little more heartfelt? How would Elizabeth react to his admission of love? A story about forgiveness and overcoming the obstacles of family, friends, society and their own pride and prejudices to find their happy ending. Fluff. Some characters are slightly OOC.
