Warm welcome to everyone who has found their way here! There isn't much to me. I'm myself and that's about it. If you know me from somewhere else already, bad for you. I don't think I'm really enjoyable person to be around. I don't do much writing but that's what I'm aiming for. I like to think I read English fluetly but using it is another matter all together (you don't want to hear me talk, my pronouncing is so off it's not even funny). Feel free to correct all and any grammar mistakes you see frolicking around. "A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus: 1. What am I trying to say? 2. What words will express it? 3. What image or idiom will make it clearer? 4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect?" — George Orwell Do you? Copy and paste this to your profile “Writer's block is a condition that affects amateurs and people who aren't serious about writing. So is the opposite, namely inspiration, which amateurs are also very fond of. Putting it another way: a professional writer is someone who writes just as well when they're not inspired as when they are." — Philip Pullman "I just got out of the hospital. I was in a speed reading accident. I hit a bookmark and flew across the room." — Steven Wright "While we read a novel, we are insane—bonkers. We believe in the existence of people who aren't there, we hear their voices... Sanity returns (in most cases) when the book is closed." — Ursula K. Le Guin "A writer is a person who cares what words mean, what they say, how they say it. Writers know words are their way towards truth and freedom, and so they use them with care, with thought, with fear, with delight. By using words well they strengthen their souls. Story-tellers and poets spend their lives learning that skill and art of using words well. And their words make the souls of their readers stronger, brighter, deeper." — Ursula K. Le Guin |
