January 22, 2012 -- So not only am I incapable of writing in a timely manner, my computer has recently been wiped...meaning no record of my writing now exists, save for what has been posted here or the sporadic pieces I decided to email to myself over the years. It's impossible to describe how gutted I feel at this point in time. I honestly feel like I'm walking around with a gaping hole in my chest -- sometimes I fantasize that I can feel the wind brushing my insides as it passes through me. Never can a writer feel so hollow than to have his or her work swept from the universe, as if it had never been written, the thoughts never been had, the emotions never been felt. Needless to say, all the progress I've made on the various stories listed below that I have not yet posted has been undone. I fear I'll never get back to where I was, though God knows I'll try my damn hardest. I ask only for forgiveness and perhaps some patience, as the road ahead of me is long, and I am weary.

About Me

Name: I'm a Payne. That's all you need to know. (nods with mock seriousness)

Age: Let's forgo numbers and just say that no matter what, I'll probably be carded until I'm fifty.

Appearance: Short, brown, and crazy. In all aspects, really.

My interests are varied and general, not really worth listing. I've only recently gotten back into the habit of writing, but given that it's only produced one chapter so far, I don't even know if it qualifies as a "habit" yet. Fingers crossed though.

In an effort to build on that habit, I have also created an AO3 account for funsies. Right now I'm writing a Pokemon story that's a few chapters in. Feel free to pop on over if you so desire, same pen name (Payne_N_Uranus).

Also I have a crappy memory. So, don't be too offended if I don't remember...anything...

Ff anyone is interested, I'm keeping track of all the shows I have watched in my beta profile up top, so if anyone is looking for a decent beta who knows the show/book/etc. from start to finish, I could be of service.

Down below is where I discuss my ideas for my stories. To clear up any confusions as to what certain terms I use may mean, here's a little "word bank":

Slightly AU = Basics of storyline, i.e. character's powers, relationships, personalities are all kept relatively the same. Only difference is probably setting.
AU = Alternate Universe, everything's probably changed, characters don't have powers or...whatever, and key events in show are left out.
(K, T, M) = Possible story rating.
(MM/DD/YY) = Latest update on story's progress.

Writer's Comments: (3/14/2016) Penultimate chapter posted! Officially decided there's one more chapter to go, unless I decide to do an Epilogue, which may or may not be necessary. We shall determine based on popular demand, if there is any at all.

Writer's Comments: (3/14/09) I have a big assignment...to rewrite the first chapter. Le gasp. I know it sucks, but I don't wanna!! If there has ever been something I've hated worse than...well, we won't get into that, but one of things I hate most is rewriting things. It's very...gah. I have no words. There are no words. There should be no words, and yet I keep writing hoping that words will somehow make themselves up and let me use them to describe this indescribable feeling involving rewriting things. Bleck. Hate writing. Grrr.

Writer's Comments: (1/25/09) Due to the incredibly complex and detailed past of Kurama's character, I thought this might need a bit more time for research and whatnot. By the time both A Month and An Innocent Mirage are finished, there should be some more free time to go back over the YYH DVD's, and thoroughly plan out this story. I've said it time and again, I've read stories with this plot line, and I'd like to see if I can do it better. That takes effort, so I'm going to put that in. Rewriting is a definite must, there are so many flaws, it hurts to read over. That's what happens when writing styles change over the course of...four years?

Writer's Comments: (1/29/09) Upon rereading what I had written, it really occurred to me that this story is...umm...garbage? Yes. That's the word. So I'll have to do some MAJOR revising, as it was too painful for even ME to read through. I didn't get through the first chapter...not good. Curse my past self! Anyway, this is, FO SHO, the last one on my list of things to update. I might remove it altogether, but there are people out there who like it... Suppose we'll just have to see what happens. My mind may save this story yet, and make it magical. Note: THIS IS NOT A SELF-INSERTION, AS IS THE CASE WITH ALL OCS IN MY FICS. I don't love myself enough to do that.

Hiei Goes To SCHOOL! - Incomplete. In Progress. HieixOC (one-sided), KuramaxOC (one-sided). In other words, No Pairings, just a bit of fangirl obsession happening. Writer's comments: (3/2/08) I really, REALLY like this fic. It was one of the first that I had written, and it took years to do it. However, due to the large amount of OC action in the first chapter, I figure it'd be best to develop my reputation as a writer on this website before I try to introduce something as different as this. But I like this fic, so I'm not going to give up on it either. We'll just have to see... again

What if- A Thought Of Kurama's - No pairings. Kurama has a thought. What if someone found the tape from the Dark Tournament with all of his fights recorded on it? And what if that person went to his school? (K) (Status: Gone)

Running Water - No pairings. Kurama joins his schoolmates on a field trip to the local museum. However, there's just a bit of a problem...Kurama has a little run-in with a water demon named Sho. He and his mysterious accomplice have plans for the artifacts in the building, but aren't the least bit concerned about the welfare of the people inside. So what can Kurama do but put an end to this dangerous plot in order to protect his fellow students and visitors? (T) (Status: Gone)

Saving Face - Kurama/OC. Someone out there has something against Kurama. He doesn't know who. All he knows is that, whoever they are, they know who he is, where he lives, and where he goes to school. Which means they have a perfect opportunity to blow his cover. Attacks on the school, putting his mother in danger, sabotaging his poor attempts at asking a girl out on a date, disrupting his first date in general... How will he get out of this unscathed? And with the added troubles of romance, will his human identity remain intact as well, or is that just pushing it? (T)

Dragon Ball Z:

Hell Hath No Fury- Gohan/Videl. Slightly AU. No Cell, no Buu--sorry. Gohan gets amnesia shortly after his whole family is supposedly killed by a group of mysterious hit men. Bulma and her family, who have been close friends with the Sons for quite some time, do their best to trigger his memory so that they can find out who killed the Son family. Out in Satan City, the world's strongest martial artist, Hercule Satan, wastes his life away in the solitude of his large mansion a couple years after the death of his wife. Videl, suffering from the lack of parental attention, starts fighting crime to blow off steam. Anyways, Gohan lives his life out as in the High School series, only there is no Great Saiyaman (he's such a dork), only the Gold Fighter. You'll have to wait and see how Videl and Gohan are linked together with their parents' pasts. (M for violence?) (Status: Gone)

Sailor Moon:

Seed Of Love (title may change) - Rei/Minako, Ami/Mako, Usagi/Mamoru, Haruka/Michiru. Slightly AU. There's not much here to write without giving away the whole plot. It's still in the developing stages. Basically it's a get-together fic for Rei and Minako, and Ami and Mako. Usagi and Mamoru are getting married, and Haruka and Michiru are playing the love gurus for the girls and whatnot. Just a simple, romantic story. (T) (Status: Gone)

Poolside Romance - Haruka/Michiru, Usagi/Mamoru, small hints of Rei/Minako and Ami/Mako. AU. Michiru's a lifeguard, and Haruka's on the school track team. When team funding comes in the form of a "snack shack" at the local pool, the two end up meeting. However, it's anything but love at first sight. Distrust, maybe. Anger, probably. Lust, most definitely. But love? That could take a while. (T) (Status: Gone)

Backseat Driver - Rei/Minako. AU. Minako, famous pop star and teen idol all around the world, is incapable of keeping a chauffeur to drive her around during her spontaneous vacations. She calls up Usagi, a friend she made during the start of her career, and asks if she can help her find someone do it -- maybe a friend of hers who may need a job? At this point, she's willing to pay whatever necessary. Rei, who's having financial troubles with the Shrine since her grandfather died, is struggling to find a way to keep her home from falling under in debt. She calls up Usagi, her high school friend, and asks if she can think of any way to help Rei dig herself out of this hole. While both Rei and Minako seek out Usagi's help at the same time, confusion occurs, and somehow Rei ends up with the job Minako was offering. However, the two do not get along in the least. Will this attitude change during the time they spend together, or is that asking too much? (T) (Status: Gone)

Exes and Hoes - Rei/Minako. AU. Rei Hino is a prostitute, selling her body in order to take care of her sick grandpa. Minako Aino, big and famous actress, goes through sexual partners like tissue paper. Both are looking for a change. Minako is getting sick of all her jealous and possessive ex-boyfriends fighting over her, and Rei yearns to find another way to support herself and her guardian. Is it possible that a chance meeting between the two will fix both of their situations? (M) (Status: gone)

Rebirth of Wind and Water - Haruka/Michiru. A compilation of moments from their childhood, leading up to their Senshi days. I rather like it, it's very cute, but yup... (K) (Status: Gone)

Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 (title may change) - Haruka/Michiru. AU. Overly-attacked plot of the two growing up together, best friends and all. But this could be considered something different. Michiru is in the orchestra, and consequently, the band is short a piano player. Not that no one can play, but the members of the "band" are needed on their instruments. So who volunteers to fill in? Well, not Haruka. At least, not until Michiru cajoles her into participating. When it comes time to perform out of state, and consequently taking a week off during school, things progress between the two, growing from a nearly perfect friendship to...a perfect "something more". Punctured Tires - Haruka/Michiru. AU. Haruka used to be the child racing prodigy of Japan. However, when an accident guided by her hands tears away her most important person, she refuses to get behind the wheel of a car ever again. Years later, Haruka is approached by a group of mysterious people in need of her skills. They claim that only her gift at racing can protect the three mystical artifacts of the past from greedy and ignorant hands. Can Haruka get over her fear and leave the past behind her, or will she allow it to consume her and let history repeat itself? (T) (Status: Gone)

Kissing Cousins - Haruka/Michiru. AU. "Haruka's been adopted by the Kaioh family, and Michiru has a new cousin. Only, Michiru's never had the urge to kiss one of her cousins before. That could cause problems." Haruka gets adopted when she's really young by the sister of Michiru's dad. Growing up is rather interesting when your love interest is your cousin. This is a story watching as the love between the two grows from familial affection to full-blown romance. (T/M) (Status: Gone)

Garage Sale - Haruka/Michiru. AU. One of these days, stories will stop attacking my brain. Tag line: "Michiru's always lived in a neat, organized fashion, with everything pristine and in its own place. So it's no surprise that she's thrown for a loop when a grease-covered Haruka stumbles carelessly into her life". Michiru is the daughter of a wealthy business man. She gets a car for her birthday, but a few weeks after she receives it, the car needs some maintenance. Thankfully, the local engine repair shop has a handy blond more than willing to tinker with the parts and get it working again. After that fateful meeting, it seems that all of her father's cars need a tune up. Michiru volunteers for the job... Of course, lots of flirting ensues, but that's half the fun! Short, probably an elongated one-shot. (T) (Status: Gone)

Final Fantasy X-2:

Dr. Green P - Paine/Rikku. It's gotten to the point where Paine's having a bit of trouble keeping her icy mask in place, especially when Rikku is running around with her old friends and doing Yevon knows what. Yuna doesn't seem to have a problem with it, though it could be because of the fact that she finally has Tidus in her life again. That, and she's not the one that has to put up with Rikku's excitement over the guys she's dating. Paine's been suffering through it, but who can say how long that'll last? And what's the problem anyway? Surely she's not...jealous? (T) (Status: Gone)

South of Nowhere:

Holy Shit (title may change, only if Fanfiction has a problem with it) - Spashley, other minor pairings included. AU. Tag Line: "You know where hot, young rock stars go when they get in trouble with the law? Church. You know who helps them? Hot, young blonds that are the Minister's daughters." A new spin on Ashley going to church. For a long, long time. (M) (Status: Gone)

Kim Possible:

Opposite Sides of the Track (title may change) - AU. College setting. KiGo (I know, I know, I'm jumping on the band wagon. Whatever, I've been inspired...again.) Shego's the angry, outcast-rebel of an upperclassmen, and Kim's the incoming happy-go-lucky, positive thinker, cheerleader freshman. See what happens. (T)

Bleach:

I have nothing to write here yet, as I'm hardly far enough into the series to actually write something remotely accurate, but I do know I'll be writing a few TatsukixOrihime/YoruichixSoi/IchigoxRukia and other pairings... just need to come up with some good stories...

Mai HiME:

Stockholm Syndrome - AU. ShizNat. Natsuki and Shizuru meet under the most unorthodox circumstances... a bank robbery and a kidnapping. (T)

Man's Best Friend - AU. ShizNat, along with other pairings. First District is doing something with the Carnival that has never been done before -- merging Child with HiME. Needless to say, things don't go as they planned. (T)

Photogenic - Aoi/Chie. Fun little one-shot involving Chie and a model she never really considered. Won't say much more, since it'll probably spoil it... (K/T)
