Steve is seriously injured in an attack by the Chitauri. In critical condition w/ the Super Soldier serum suppressed by an alien toxin, Cap's team pushes him to fight, but fighting means rejecting the dream he's living. If Steve stays asleep he gets to live the life he never had with Peggy, but to wake up will tear that dream apart. Will Steve choose his team or the woman he loves?

"You can't stay on Enterprise, kid. I've got to get you to Earth," McCoy said. No. Jim wasn't going back to Earth. There was nothing for him on Earth. There never had been. Nothing good happened on Earth. He wanted to stay. Kirk picks up an unknown virus on the Narada and is quarantined on Earth while McCoy tries frantically to find a cure.

Sometimes things are too broken to be fixed, and sometimes they aren't. Additional scene for The Winter Soldier. An injured Steve returns home from hospital with Natasha, and he's struggling to come to terms with what's happened.

He's been beaten, blown out of a third floor window by a grenade and shot in the chest by an alien ray gun. Everything hurts and he's not really feeling the Shawarma. Hurt!Steve with a side of Protective!Bruce, and a sprinkling of the rest of the gang. My first Avengers Assemble fic. Hope you enjoy it!

"What the hell happened to you?" McCoy slowly stood from the desk, watching Jim walk toward him with a slight limp to his gait. He suppressed a curse. "I just left you two hours ago." What happened after Kirk returned from Kronos? An interlude between Kirk and McCoy.

Super soldiers have amazing metabolism which is great for healing super fast. It's not so great if the super soldier needs anesthesia. Tony Stark has this stuff covered though because if there's a will there's a technological way. The problem with coming up with amazing technological solutions is that eventually you get in a situation where you have to field test them.

Jim's best laid plans usually had a way of backfiring quite spectacularly.

His hands clenched around the tricorder they were holding. Looking frantically at him was a pair of electric blue eyes. He could've cried right then and there at the sight of his best friend looking back at him. Missing scenes from STID.

Physically speaking, Kirk has recovered perfectly. There is damage, though, that no one can see and it's destroying Kirk from the inside. From the moment he's released from the hospital, he's working round the clock. It doesn't stop when the five year mission begins. Eventually, it leads to a breakdown. Can Spock help him recover and become the captain he once was?
