Elizabeth Bennet, city/career girl, returns to her hometown after many years away and meets Fitzwilliam Darcy, country/farm boy. A Pride and Prejudice story, with the usual cast of characters - well, most of them. Somewhat canon-ish, but not completely, and with a few...twists. And turns. And flips and flops. This is a chance encounter between Rory and Tristan. Rory's job takes her to North Carolina, and her first assignment is to interview one injured soldier. She walks into that army base expecting to get her first story, but that's not all she gets...

The classic twist of Mr. Bennet dies, Darcy offers a marriage of protection, and he and Elizabeth must work through their pride and prejudices without being able to escape one another.
