![]() Author has written 11 stories for Batman Begins/Dark Knight, Hunger Games, Avengers, Thor, Puella Magi Madoka Magica/魔法少女まどか★マギカ, Re-Animator, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Cabin in the Woods. No I'm Not Dead I'm so sorry guys. I burned out really hard on the MCU and I thought I took enough of a break but trying to force myself to finish just made it worse and as much as I hate to leave stuff hanging, I'd rather leave it hanging than post work I'm not happy with. I do write out of order so, really frustratingly, a lot more of the work is actually finished on some of my fics. If you guys are interested, I might post the parts I have with some notes from my outline to string them together with context, but that sounds like a very messy read so my impulse is just to hope one day I get my second wind on finishing the MCU fics I started. Let me know if you'd rather have the former. I am planning to resume posting Choice of Evils this year and I am hoping I still have a couple of chapters of Clint Barton Single Dad left in me. A Little Bit About Myself I'm a scientist for a small pharmaceutical company. We do manufacturing for clinical trials for other small pharmas and universities that don't have the capital or the inclination to invest in all the infrastructure and personnel needed to manufacture the gene therapy products they've designed on a large scale. I work in the process development part of the QC department. Our department does various testing to ensure the safety and efficacy of the products being manufactured, and because I'm in process development I get to help with developing the tests to be used on new products as they come in - it's a job I love but it is very time consuming and I have been struggling with better time and energy management for a couple of years now. So my fandoms? Um - I love superhero stuff. Mostly the Marvel Cinematic Universe right now (even if I don't like a lot of the current direction), but also Nolanverse Batman. I love Hunger Games - as seen by my super long fic written as a crossover with the MCU. I also am finally starting to get into some anime (after years of my friends bugging me lol) and I am obsessed with Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I'm also a huge Trekkie and finally watched and loved Fullmetal Alchemist last year (I know, I'm five million years behind on anime). Current Fanfiction Writing So after feeling crushing guilt for leaving my MCU fics hanging, I'm not going to start posting any new stories until they're entirely finished, and then post once or twice a week. I feel like this works better for me anyway since I write out of order, and also I tend to change things as I go and I hate being stuck with something despite having a new idea because I can't contradict a chapter I already posted. I'm planning to finish Choice of Evils this fall and post it throughout October (but you know, best laid plans of mice and men and all, so sadly I can't promise anything). I have a number of Deep Space Nine fics in the works. The main fic that I've done most of the work for and will probably be the first one posted is Dutiful which is the Dominion war from the point-of-view of one of the Vorta scientists working on trying to cure the morphogenic virus referenced in the last two seasons of the show. For those outside the fandom: That means a villain POV story. Also, there will be so much Fullmetal Alchemist fanfiction. So much. Pairings I'm Into: For Batman Joker/Harley Quinn: Who isn't into that one? Harley Quinn/Scarecrow: (only in Nolanverse) I realize I am extremely odd and probably the only person on Earth who is into that, but hey, Harley has already been shipped with just about everybody anyway and they probably used to work together at Arkham, at the very least they once shared the same profession, and if you follow my theory that a Nolanverse Harley Quinn would have to be smart and a little more independent they would probably get along, so I think it could work in the Nolanverse. Not anywhere else though. Oh, who am I kidding, I just want an excuse to have somebody in-universe point out that Dr. Crane, as played by Cillian Murphy, is drop dead gorgeous. And don't worry, no, that is not the direction I'm going in with Obsession, Harley is way too in love with J to notice that Dr. Crane is drop dead gorgeous. Bruce/Catwoman: Duh. Bruce/(well-written) original characters: I've always wondered why Bruce doesn't have a love interest on the right side of the law who is neither as irritating as Vicki Vale or as doomed as Rachel. If anyone can write that, I say, "God bless you!" For Marvel Tony/Pepper: Probably because my experience was shaped by the chemistry between Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow Hawkeye/Mockingbird: I love the dynamic between them, how they bicker and yet love each other and protect each other. There are days when I wake up and remember that they're not together in comics anymore and it seriously ruins my day. Thor/Sif: She's his wife in mythology. First girl wins lol. No, more seriously, I love the whole warrior woman thing (you go girl) and I thought that Jamie Alexander and Chris Hemsworth actually had more chemistry than Hemsworth and Natalie Portman (with no offense to Portman since she's my favorite actress). Loki/Sigyn: You may be noticing a "mythology = canon" pattern for me. Bruce/Betty: I will fight you on this. For DS9 Kira/Odo: Seriously I will fight you. Garak/Bashir: My first serious slash pairing, yay! But seriously ... when Bashir meets Garak he has the look on his face that ... well the look I would have if I met Alexander Siddig. Which isn't surprising since Siddig's response to the script was "So we're going to be Trek's first gay couple? Cool." At the point where the actors ship it, it's kind of hard to ignore. For Fullmetal Alchemist EdWin: Take a hint Ed. Ed/Russel: Why is this a rarepair? There's so much subtext. SO MUCH SUBTEXT. I'm afraid my taste in pairings runs in too totally didactic directions - either the weird ones no one else ships or the ones that are canon or hinted at strongly in canon. Don't know why. Harpygirl91 If you're into anime, you absolutely must read the stories of harpygirl91. She is an amazing writer. Unfortunately, me and anime just don't go that well together - she needs to write some Harry Potter fics or something so I know who the characters are. :) Deviant Art and AO3 Accounts I also have an account on Deviantart under the name TimeTravelerJessica. Most of the things there are the rougher draft and I no longer post fanfic there, I just thought I would mention it to indicate that I'm not a plagiarist. On the same note I'm going to be cross-posting new stories from here on out both here and on AO3 but my screenname is the same there so hopefully it's more obvious I'm not a plagiarist. Other I also write non-fanfiction fiction, hopefully one day I'll actually finish a damn thing and not hate it as soon as I do. I am considering both self-publishing on Amazon and attempting to go the traditional route. If you get Facebook ads for a book about a foreign princess escaping fantasy equivalent Russia during the fantasy-equivalent Bolshevik Revolution or a book about a childhood friend dragging the Chosen One kicking and screaming to his destiny, I'm sorry, that was me. |
