Will, Gilan, Halt and Horace are sent out on a mission to catch four escaped fugitives from Araluen. So, the normal stuff. Everything is going smoothly... until it's not. Their road splits in half, and in response, Halt does something Will didn't expect him to do. It bothers him... a little too much. (one-shot)

Early in his apprenticeship, Gilan gives Halt (and himself) a moment of panic.

Will and Gilan become concerned that Halt's latest apprentice will become Halt's new favorite. So they formulate a plan to make sure that he will definitely never become Halt's favorite and learn an important lesson about friendship.

Will woke shocked and sweat drenched, startled from his sleep by a dream more real and more disturbing then he had ever experienced in his young life. It was one of those dreams- as evident by the stained sheets- and… it was about Halt…Halt/Will slash
