![]() Author has written 3 stories for Harry Potter, Star Wars, Mass Effect, and Stargate: SG-1. Current Fiction: "Tempore Cor" (Ongoing Progress!) Welcome to my particular brand of craziness and I hope you enjoy your stay in Fiction Town. If you like HP stories then feel free to check out my *psst, JK Rowling* Harry Potter story. Characters that I like: Tyrion Lannister Sirius Black DeadPool Jack O'NeillCharacters that I hate: Ronald Weasley Joffrey Baratheon Ronald Weasley Batman Did I mention Ronald Weasley?-=Rant=- One of the most tragic aspects of novels is when a writer decides to FUBAR a relationship pairings with the wrong sort of characters. Look no further than Twilight by Stephenie Meyer or Harry Potter by JK Rowling, nuff said. In depth look: Ron Weasley was a one-dimensional, vindictive, jealous and very insecure friend with hardly any redeeming qualities. In fact, I would go so far as to say he is what you call a "High-Maintenence" friend who kept abandoning Harry at the most pivotal moments of the Harry Potter Series. Twi-wizard Tournament and Horcrux Hunt comes to mind, however there are a few other events where Ron failed at being a decent friend. You know how a lot of people were name teasing "LOONY" Luna Lovegood in Hogwarts? Rumor has it that it was Ron who started circulating that name seeing as the Weasleys and the Lovegoods are next-door neighbors. Luna had to go through 7 years of bullying in Hogwarts by people and the their liberal use of "Loony"...thanks Ron. Here comes the really tragic part; Hermione and Ron pairing! What the heck were you thinking, Jk Rowling? Ron was raised and born in the Victorian-era, wizard society in a pureblood family so he would learn to expect his future wife to stay at home cooking, cleaning and raising kids. It's so deeply ingrained that he would literally break Hermione's spirit and force a bright, intelligent woman who would have been destined to run for Minister of Magic or be a researcher Unspeakable. Instead, she would find herself being forced to cook and clean at home expecting to be a baby-making machine like Molly Weasley. Well, Hermione did end up working for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement more out of necessity than desire in the Epilogue, because Ron ended up being a shop assistant to Weasleys Wizard Wheezes with a salary that couldn't possibly support his wife Hermione and kids, Rose and Hugo. Need I say more? Hermione is a strong feminist who believes she can make a difference in life doing something fulfilling and utilizing her full intellect. She would never put Ron in the "boyfriend category" for the very simple reason that Ron was the very first boy she encountered in the Magical world who bullied and teased her. No self-respecting, woman with Self-efficacy would date the same boy that bullied and nearly endangered her life (troll incident), nor bring her to tears on a daily basis arguing and fighting over pointless trivial. -=End Rant=- I came across Fairywm's profile and found a very useful set of instructions on how to find a beta. I have copied pasted it here in case other writers have no idea how to find a Beta :) How to find a beta Go to the top of ffn click the beta tab select your type of story (book, movie…) narrow results (Harry Potter, Twilight...) narrow them some more (drama, family…) go to the last page for newer betas read profiles pm who you like. I suggest more than one. Favorite Quotes "I find your optimism slightly out of phase with reality" (Worf, Star Trek TNG) |
