Favorite Food: I like all kinds of food, but I have to say my favorite meal is southern-fried chicken with creamy mashed potatoes and some sort of vegetable side dish. Oishii da!

Favorite Kind of Music: Music is an integral part of my life. I have been playing music with my father—he can play just about any stringed instrument—since I was about eleven or twelve years old. I started with the piano, then when I was in junior high and high school, I played trumpet in the marching band—yes, I know I was a BG. I also started to play guitar sometime around ninth grade. I have very broad horizons when it comes to music, but I mostly listen to 70's Rock—most likely due to my dad's influence. I like guitarists such as David Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Robin Trower, Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and last but definitely not least, Jeff Healey.

Jeff Healey - See the Light (Live) – Fucking Amazing! If there is any guitarist that deserves any real recognition, it is Jeff Healey. For those who don't know, Healey was blind and still outperformed a lot of major guitarists—some of which I mentioned above. It's sad that not many people know about him, though. You don't want to know how depressed I was when he died on March 2, 2008 (age 41). My dad just about cried when he heard. RIP, Mr. Healey.

Personality: I'm a fairly laid-back, but I don't let myself procrastinate … much. But seriously, I have been told I'm kind and easy to get along with and very much hard to anger. But when you do piss me off it's like a switch being flipped… I DON'T take shit from anybody. Period. Thankfully, no one has ever given me any real problems. Regardless of that last part, I actually tend to be shy around people I'm not regularly around and one would have to work to ‘break me out of my shell’ so to speak. Around family and friends though, I'm very open with both my words, opinions and my actions.

Fan Fiction Pet Peeves: There are a lot of things that annoy me while reading—anything, not just fan fiction—like grammar, spelling, mixing up homonyms (e.g. to, two, too; wear, where; here, hear; their, there, they're; your, you're; etc.) and repetition of word (e.g. saying “very” all the time instead of, for example, “dreadfully, exceedingly, notably,” and “said” instead of “yelled, whispered, moaned, exclaimed, gibbered, mumbled” et cetera). But what gets me the most is when an author's story is riddled with “telling not showing.” When an author is “telling” us, the readers, what is happening we don't get the full picture, the sense that we can see the battles, romance or whatever else is being written about; it's like reading a summary—very boring. To me, one the greatest things about the written word is that, when utilized properly, it allows the reader to see what the author sees when writing a story. It allows the reader to immerse themselves into new worlds vastly different or annoyingly similar to the one we exist in already. And that is what “showing” the reader allows, it composes a beautiful picture in the mind's eye allowing a visualization of the story—not so boring, and a hell of a lot better then TV.

Good Japanese Translators:

Japanese - English Dictionary – Great translator for when you are looking for a quick, reliable translation from Japanese to English or vice versa.

Japanese Kanji Dictionary – This one is just as useful as the aforementioned translator, but is extremely useful for translating the ninjutsu in Naruto both from and into Japanese.

(Edit 07/07/08: This just occurred to me, but you need to be able to read at least Hiragana (ひらがな) and some Katakana (カタカナ) to use the Japanese Kanji Dictionary… It didn't even cross my mind until now due to the fact that I can read them; I almost forgot I was.)

Japanese Honorifics – This one isn't a translator, but since a lot of people mix up the honorifics (e.g. -san, -kun, -chan, et cetera) I thought it prudent that I provide this link.
