I give reviews to things I read and love. I usually only give reviews to the things that really stick out of the story to me, so don't freak out if I don't reply on every part of a story.

I also give advice to authors in my reviews. If I give you advice, it doesn't mean I think you are a cruddy writer. It means I know you are doing great and can improve with simple tips.

Don't write what you know.
Write what you want to know.
Write what you love, what you hate, what scares you, what motivates you.

Any writer should feel insulted to be called "perfect".
"Perfection" means that you cannot grow and change.
Not being able to change is a weakness.

Weaknesses, other than "perfection", make us human. Don't be afraid to give your characters flaws.
But not weak crud like "She's clumsy" or "He's an orphan". Those are common in Mary-Sues. Be careful. You can have a klutzy orphan, just flesh out the personality and make us feel them as being alive. Give them other flaws and moments where they shine, as well as moments where they fail.

Make them seem like a human/cat/dog/anthropomorphisized rabbit/elf/tree! Make it relatable, but don't be afraid to make it wild.

Make it seem real. Writers are the architects of Universes! That story is the readers universe at the moment they read it. Flesh it out fully!
