![]() I cannot claim to be a Gossip Girl fan because in all honesty I would most likely stop watching the show if Blair and Chuck were not part of it. Although I enjoy and like a few characters from the show, I believe some of them are just props (sorry!) for the love/hate relationship that C&B often engage in. So, with that said, I will confess that I am obsessed with Chuck and Blair. From the first moment I saw them together I was hooked (it wasn't the limo scene for me, I discovered them later unfortunately). There is this timeless quality about them that just drew me in. Chuck and Blair could belong to any era in history and what is most amazing is that somehow I believe they would find each other regardless of the obstacles. They are after all “inevitable”. This timelessness they possess could be attributed to the way they dress (Chuck wears bowties in the middle of summer and Blair sometimes looks like a 1920’s fashion icon). But I truly believe this agelessness has more to do with the love they share. The magical dance of yearning they perform around each other, the unspoken language in their gazes (especially Chuck, talk about intense stares!), their witty wordplay, and the often suppressed sexual tension. Chuck and Blair’s love is both universal and ageless; that is why I believe they could rightfully belong to any period of time. Thank goodness we get to enjoy them in our time! Chuck and Blair forever! Avatar created by mswaldass |
