![]() Author has written 4 stories for Avatar: Last Airbender, Mortal Instruments, and RWBY. While drinking, admittedly a lot more than I should have, I once had a moment of what I at least thought was profound clarity; I was drinking with several friends, all of us way too young but to hell with it, while playing pool and hanging out in the great room of my family home when the thought arose to pose a question to the other drunken philosophers in the room. “What do you think is the most blasphemous profession in the world?” I asked.’ Most of those near me were too busy playing nine ball to hear or care but my friend DJ and Kevin heard me and offered up replies. “Being a Preacher.” DJ offered, with a good reason behind it. He postulated that to Preach about a god to others one had to have a small desire to convince others of true regardless of evidence or their desire to listen and thus they played at being a god themselves on the pulpit. Kevin, a smiling cynic, disagreed and said, “A politician, who plays god with people’s lives.” “Wrong,” I replied, “The answer is an Author!” Puzzled DJ and Kevin inquired, “Why?” “Because, within the confine of their pages an Author has absolute authority over life, death, and all happenings. They are the god of their worlds. And what could be more blasphemous than that?” Welcome, to the Site of Sinners I’m preaching to the choir here as all of us on this site are in our own way profound philosophers and bastardly blasphemers! We all know that creating is more than what those who haven’t tried it think it is; they think you just have to step outside the box but we know better. Stepping outside the box is basic critical thinking, like using a spoon because you cant find a screwdriver. Creating, however, you have to take it one step further. To create you don’t just step outside the box, no; To create you burn that bitch down and dance on it’s ashes! Welcome to my humble dance recital. I hope you Read And Enjoy Hello Reader, Life happens, like it or not, and that is exactly what happened to me. For over Five long years I haven’t logged in or posted anything new. That is about to change. Recently I was both granted time in the form of a new job that doesn’t try to kill me and a muse to work off of in the form of the hit web-series and anime by Rooter Teeth RWBY. This is the newest work I’ll be focusing on. I'm building an AU for this show where as my other stories were built as continuations of the works they were based off. Since both of those world were later continued by the original artists I admit I lost my drive to type up the stories I had personally envisioned. That was lazy and selfish and thus I plan to at least release a synopsis of what the original end game for those was. The next series I have been working on is an AU of RWBY; Spoilers for both my work and the original are ahead. One of that shows most defining moments is the end of Volume 3 where Penny and Pyrrha, two “side” characters died. I am not against the death of main characters however in this particular I could not find it in my to agree with the mode and mean of their demise. I felt robbed of a potential future and with the death of the series creator, Monty Oum, I couldn’t help but feel that things had changed suddenly in response to his unfortunate and untimely end. Since I have calmed and learned that this is indeed the way hat Monty meant to take the show, but I also realized that regardless of the reason if I didn’t like that those characters were gone I didn’t have to accept it. As writers we are near gods in our works, able to change things as we see fit, and thus I have. The AU I am currently posting begs the question of what if that Arrow was slightly off aim. Like “A Sound of Thunder” I could change the world with a thought and thanks to this incredible site and the awesome folks at Rooster Teeth supporting their fan’s and their fan -works I can share that new adventure I went through in my head with all of you. I promise nothing, save that I truly hope you will read and enjoy. |
