Hmm... where to begin? Well, I'm Jess, and the first thing you should know about me is that I am a Harry Potter nut. I adore the books to bits and pieces, and have read them all countless times (GoF most of all, probably). My favourite characters are probably Harry, Ron and Hermione (can't choose between them). Hagrid and Dumbledore come a close second. Despite being madly in love with the books, I do not like the movies. Mainly because I prefer to leave HP to my imagination - but also because I thought the acting was absolutely terrible. :P

My main obsession after Harry Potter is... yup, you guessed it, Lord of the Rings. I love both the books and the movies, but if I had to choose between them I would probably pick the books. I love the books because they're so detailed (though reading through descriptions of scenery does get rather tedious after a while), and everything and everyone seems to have a little history behind it/them, making the series seem so real. And the movies are brilliant too - such wonderful acting, and special effects, and all that... My favourite LotR character is Gandalf (in both books and movies) - he's wise, irascible, and has a good sense of humour.

I also love anything by Jane Austen - Pride & Prejudice in particular, of course. I adore the Pride & Prejudice miniseries, too, with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle... absolutely brilliant...

19/04/04 - I just removed my story. It was just... *shudders* ... completely and utterly terrible. I feel much better now. :D
