Author has written 2 stories for DC Superheroes. So, what’s to say, well for starters I’ve been an avid reader ever since I can remember, way back when...well, I was born in 1962, so do the math. Fiction, non-fiction, always at least two books on the go. What do I enjoy most, reading-wise? Quite wide but most often, sci-fi, fantasy, comic books, and factually, philosophy, cosmology, military history, I guess. Authors,...favourites range from Isaac Asimov to Piers Anthony, from William Shakespeare to Richard Dawkins, from George RR Martin to Terry Pratchett, from...you get the idea. TV and film, similar tastes, I suppose, special mention to Joss Wheedon’s brilliant “Firefly”, the films of Terry Gilliam, and or course to the Great Bird of the Galaxy, Gene Roddenberry. Bit of context, I’m from a small town in Yorkshire, in the north of England; I love proper pubs, cricket and music that makes you both think and care. I hate being bored, Boredom Is A Crime Against Time, and dislike people who want to live their lives “inside the box”, why plod, when you can soar? To me that’s what good art is about, exploring the inner and outer workings of the human condition, looking inside, behind the mask at the self, as it seeks to come to terms with its place in the Universe and its own identity. That all said, I gotta beg your indulgence here, I’m a rookie, never done anything longer than a vignette ‘til recently, and I’ll make mistakes, plenty of ‘em. So, be kind, but be honest, when you read my stories. Most importantly, lemme know, what I’m doing wrong and what I’m doing right, that’s what reviews are for, to hone and tune, to improve and clarify. In closing, I hope you enjoy reading, whatever you read and enjoy writing, whatever you write. After all, that’s why we do it. |
