(AU) Steve McGarrett received a call from his father's house moments after he heard Victor Hesse pull the trigger. In other words, Steve has a daughter Grace's age. Danny felt almost sorry for his kidnappers, they had clearly thought when they had taken him that he would be the easiest to subdue on the 50 taskforce. It was a shame that they had gotten it so, so wrong. (Eventual McDanno)

A potentially life changing injury to his partner has a certain Navy SEAL reevaluating how he does things and, even if Danny will be okay soon, sets the man on a path of revenge.

Danny comes down with the flu and Steve decides to take care of his partner with making a house call. He didn't think things would change for the worse. Not a slash or death fic, includes sick Danny and worried Steve.

Without thinking twice about it, he'd tapped on her name to listen to her message. What he'd heard almost dropped him to his knees.

Steve's decision to clear his head by taking a hike with a storm system on the horizon becomes a major mistake. Will his team learn he is in trouble or will he have to overcome his injuries and get to safety on his own? And can he settle the worries that sent him out on that trail in the first place?
