Prequel. Two short stories, one about Mercedes and one about Barbarita and the key moment in their youth that shaped them as queer ladies in the 1940's. Okay maybe not two short stories. Maybe also some vignettes.

Caroline and Kate, from the very beginning. Sally Wainwright is responsible for creating the characters, I'm just filling in the gaps. From Chapter 15 on, it's morphing a bit into what I would have liked to see happen for C&K.

The characters of Caroline and Kate are borrowed from the amazing Sally Wainwright. There is no copyright infringement intended. Set right after the ill fated birthday weekend away. Kate had left a surprise for Caroline before the whole two rooms, break up saga. I am hoping to continue on for a few chapters if the feedback isn't too bad :)

An AU set on the birthday weekend. How did it come to this? What would have provoked Kate to lash out like that? Why was it so hard for Caroline to book a double room? It made me ponder what the back story could be...and...how would I have resolved the weekend?

Two years after Kate's death her ghost returns to help Caroline move on. As you can imagine, much much angst included.

We must always hope.

John gives Caroline an early draft of his new novel and she's dismayed to find that not only has he not left Alison Waterhouse behind as he'd promised, but he's written a version in which he manages to upset pretty much every member of the extended Dawson/Elliot/Greenwood family. Caroline is not pleased. This is my alternative series three, from episode 3 onwards.

A couple of imagined vignettes that might've happened before the reunion of S2, Ep6 and contributed to Kate deciding to come back and give Caroline one last chance.

An AU story set when Caroline comes home from Oxford one summer and meets a young Kate. What could have happened if they had met back then.
