I've had this account since...what, 2003? checks 2002. Wow.

I wrote some crappy never-finished Yu-Gi-Oh! crap on here back in the day.

I never seem to be able to finish anything I write.

Anyway, I'm keeping this account for reviewing stuff. I'm decent at reviewing. I have impeccable grammar and spelling (hello grammar nazi!), and have a decent understanding of literature, having taken multiple "analyzing stories to death until they are no longer readable" courses in school.

Who am I?

I'm a 19 year old young lady from somewhere on the East Coast of the United States of America. You can call me Mari. I've been reading things on here since I was a prepubescent twit, and I imagine I'll keep reading things on here until I'm in my twenties. Not that that gives me any particular authority, but I've been here, lurking and reading for what seems like forever.

I have a website, I blog, I listen to music, I think Japan is the next sliced bread, blah blah blah. I'm pretty much just like most other Internet users.

Two things of note: I've been studying Japanese and French for some 6 or so years each (and making very little progress compared to what you'd expect), and I'm picky. Very picky.

I absolutely love to read: in-character explorations of relationships between enemies, realistic (read: not always fluffy and cute) romances, and horror/suspense

I'm partial to: slash (yama nashi ochi nashi, imi nashi - whatever you'd like to call it, I call it mansex or manlovin'), romance, horror, creepy!characters, good character development (even if I dislike the basis of the story, if it's a multi-chaptered epic where the characters grow and learn, I'll be suckered in)

I cringe when I see: ridiculous OOC random fluffy slash between two characters that hate each other's guts, painfully obvious and ill-thought-out deus ex machina, odd-sounding English (I appreciate how awfully hard it is to learn a second language, but Beta Readers seem to be available, also I would prefer that an author write simplistically if they have trouble with English), unfinished epics
