Do you spend your free time in the fictional world?

To relax and relieve stress during the limited time I have outside of work, I could choose to go on a night out with friends, or catch up on much needed sleep, or binge-watch the many movies and shows I have queued, but I often find myself most relaxed while browsing through stories online.

The stories I love most are about the characters I love. Whether they are expertly drawn doujinshi manga or creatively written fan fiction, I love seeing my favourite characters placed in new scenarios, new environments, and expand their lives outside of their canon world.

I believe we all have fantasies in mind where we send our favourite characters to live, and stories can be an enjoyable way to experience these fantasies. This is where I hope to bring those fantasies to life, my own and maybe even yours, in written stories.

A written story can be powerful, as it exists as a unique dynamic between the guiding words of a writer and engaging imagination of the reader. The story can play out a certain way in my mind, but in other ways in the imaginations of others. Your interpretation of words are imbued with your experiences, your beliefs, your desires, your fears, and manifest as your own unique production. To me, this is the charm of reading written fiction.
