Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. Right, what is there to say in this thing? I am male, of Scandinavian blood albeit British nationality, married, nearly 30, and live in a small village in Staffordshire, England. I am an ICT network manager and a semi-professional rock musician (play bass, lead guitar, keyboards and drums), own my own recording studio and am the primary songwriter for the progressive rock band Voyager Project. I am a Christian, and play in the worship band at my church. My other hobbies include reading, photography, listening to music and I dabble a bit in web design. I teach guitar and bass privately when I get chance. I do not watch TV (indeed, we have no TV aerial or license). Areas of interest, fan-fic wise, are primarily Harry Potter, although I also enjoy Buffy, Angel, Roswell, Dawson's Creek and a few other things that were big when I was in my late teens / early 20's. I have most of these on video or DVD, along with a large collection of rock concert DVDs. Favourite music artists include Dream Theater, Marillion, Toto, Peter Gabriel, Neal Morse, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani, while my biggest musical regret is that I didn't get to see Transatlantic live during their short existence. More recently I've gotten into a lot of symphonic and power metal from Scandinavia and the Netherlands, in particular Sonata Arctica and Nightwish. Having given up on my first fic, Harry Potter and the Awakening of Truth, due to work getting in the way, me missing getting it written pre-Deathly Hallows and it all being far too confusing, I've now moved onto a new HP story, which should be a more light-hearted. While it should stand alone quite happily, the plan is for it to also serve as a precursor to a much more involved crossover fiction which is set 4 years after the Battle of Hogwarts. I know some people don't like crossover, and some people don't like outside characters, but for those of you who do, watch this space! I have more research to do before I get too much further in writing it, so don't hold your breath, plus I'm hoping to get the Year of Awakening written up before I go any further with actually putting this to prose (although the notes for it are already starting to litter my desk somewhat!). Anyway, thanks for reading, and hope you enjoy. Peace! Martin |
