![]() Author has written 18 stories for Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. A bit about me... I took a long break from the world of fanfic and am slowly coming back. My daughter claims most of my time, but I'm starting to write again. I used to publish under the name La Belladonna, but there were some people who kept getting me confused with someone from another site. So, I took the easy way out and just changed my name. A few important disclaimers... I do not own rights to Star Wars or the Old Republic games. The stories posted here are my romps through the wonderful universe created by George Lucas and the characters developed by the talented people at Lucas Arts, Bioware, and Obsidian. Nor do I own any rights to The Lord of the Rings in any form, book or film. The stories I contributed here are crafted with respect and gratitude to the beloved creation of J.R.R. Tolkien and the countless men and women who devoted years of their lives to bring the tale to life on film. I also do not own any rights to the Mass Effect series. These stories are all inspired by the wonderful work of the Bioware team. And yet another thing I have no rights to...the Baldur's Gate series. This classic piece of the Forgotten Realms came from Bioware, Black Isle Studios, and Interplay. One more thing I have no rights to: Dragon Age. Another great series from the Bioware team (are you seeing a trend here?). About my fics... Keeping Promises: My very first little fanfic. The Resurrection of Revan: This started out as an experiment in writing using different POV's. I liked the results and decided to share. The Security of Betrayal: I wrote this for the villains challenge over at KFM (kotorfanmedia.com). Stowaway: Another fic I wrote for a KFM challenge. I had been wanting to write something about Sasha for a while, so the supporting characters challenge was just the kick in the rear I needed to do it. And yes, for the astute Aliens fans, Casey was named after Newt's disembodied doll. The Annual Ebon Hawk Pazaak Tournament: Yet another KFM challenge fic. This one's my first venture into writing something a little more comedic. And I've been requested to announce that it happens to be my little sister's favorite. She wants me to write more "happy" stories like this. :) Superiority at Any Cost: My entry into the KFM challenge for lies. It's my take on how Selene was murdered at the Sith Academy on Korriban. Much to my little sister's dismay, it's another dark piece. Snakes and Gizkas: Another fic written for a KFM challenge and my second venture into a more humorous story. This was my first time writing in Jolee's voice, which was a lot of fun and a bit challenging on its own. I hope I've done justice to his character! Recalled to Life: This is my first venture in the Lord of the Rings fandom and a step toward a different style of writing. It's set more in the movie, but very heavily inspired by the books. The title is, of course, borrowed from Charles Dickens. An Offer of Enlistment: I wrote this for the New Beginnings challenge over at KFM. I wanted to give Kiryn Maar (my Revan) a real backstory. For me, there needed to be something before waking up on the Endar Spire to really solidify her character. This story is the result. Even When All the Moons Stop Shining: This story is the result of a personal challenge to write something for Valentine's Day. I don't usually write romance and thought this a good occasion to try something new. The idea of the voice-recording locket was inspired by Space: Above and Beyond. Junior Officer in Love: A Cautionary Tale: You guessed it! Another KFM challenge fic. This one was written for the Love Sucks theme. I always felt a bit bad for Yun, so this challenge was a great opportunity to write about him. Alright: This is my first try at a Mass Effect fic and the first story I've written in a very long time. Needless to say, the cursor hovered over the submit button for a few minutes while I built up the courage to share. The Minsc Offensive: I've loved Minsc and Boo since the first squeak and was beyond thrilled when I had the chance to bring Boo on the Normandy. If you aren't familiar with Minsc and Boo, you need to play Baldur's Gate. BG2 is still one of my all-time favorite games. As should be fairly obvious, this fic is in no way serious. A Christmas Miracle: In the midst of a rather melancholy holiday, Santa brought a plot bunny. I can't really make any excuse for my abuse of how the Q.E.C. should work or Shepard's implants except to plead willful ignorance and offer a big, (hopefully) charming smile. By the Light of Day: I never in a million years thought I would write a Cullen story, but there you go. I never disliked his character, but I never really appreciated him before Inquisition either. I didn't expect him to end up my favorite romance in the game. I really didn't. His character was a very pleasant surprise. Scribbling in the Margins: If I never in a million years thought I'd write a Cullen story, I can't even begin to guess at how long it would take before I thought I'd write more. These little snippets of ideas struck me as I started playing through again and I just went with it. There might be something bigger brewing, but for now, I'll just stick with what I know my 4-year-old will give me the time to finish. Before: So yeah, Umbara was rough on my scoundrel. I am in the camp of trying to hold on to some hope that it's just the beginning of what could be a great story. After Umbara: I'm so impatient to see if/how several of my characters will get their romance back on track. Ennali (my main and a scoundrel) never had much patience to begin with. I started some short sketches on how she'd be dealing, mostly in not so great ways. Reviews are greatly appreciated. (Honestly, they really make me happy.) If you liked something, let me know. If you didn't, let me know why. Constructive criticism is a great thing. |
