![]() Author has written 1 story for Elder Scroll series. A bio? Well, then. I had a low opinion overall of fanfiction until recently. I'm not ashamed of it; I just assumed (based on what I saw) that it was filled with plot holes, unexplained retcons, and grammatical errors as people tried to rewrite stories as they saw fit, regardless of what the authors intended. Oh, and Rule 34. I got better. I am a gamer, and still getting used to that label. I am also a bookworm, and have been told that I'm a decent writer. However, being good at writing essays and knowing what makes bad writing is not enough to be good at writing fiction. My writing process generally goes like this: 1. Idea pops into my head. 2. Scan idea for obvious conflict with lore/canon, and design headcanon if necessary. 3. Don't let anyone know about it for fear of making myself look dumb. 4. Start thinking of characters and immediately realize that they're two-dimensional at best. 5. ????????? While I figure out what the hell step 5 is, here are some books and videogames I really like. BOOKS -Artemis Fowl series (Until Book 6, which was dumb like the ones after it) by Eoin Colfer -Rhapsody series (A Symphony of Ages) by Elizabeth Haydon GAMES -Prototype, in case you couldn't tell. Don't talk to me about Prototype 2, I'll have none of that blasphemy here. -Fallout 3 -The Elder Scrolls series -The Witcher -Batman: Arkham series (Don't like the New 52 much, but the gameplay is on point) -Dead Space (1 and 2. 3 is out for me, to the point where I won't play it) -Metal Gear Solid series (5 is excepted, though I'm reconsidering) -Half-Life 2 -Dishonored -inFAMOUS series (Until Second Son. I can't accept it, sorry.) That about does it for me. If I ever start actually writing instead of just mooching on others' work, it will probably take a while. I'm kind of a perfectionist, and college doesn't leave one much room for hobbies, but who knows? Maybe an idea will strike me. Until then, I'll be lurking somewhere, occasionally favoriting stuff and sending PMs of appreciation to awesome writers. Fair warning to people who come here looking for fic recommendations: Not everything I follow is good. I freely admit to following some things that are absolutely awful because I like to laugh at them. I don't leave negative reviews, though. Writing is difficult, and I have to respect people who are confident enough in their work to send it out into the world at all. |
