![]() Author has written 12 stories for Cars, and Doctor Who. Hi! This is a collaboration account of FizzGryphon and DreamRebellion, so we will be featuring stories we have written together. Check out our YouTube channel! We're making a video series on the theory written below! NOTE: PRIVATE MESSAGES TO THIS ACCOUNT WILL NOT BE ANSWERED IN MOST CASES. REQUESTS TO ROLEPLAY WILL BE IGNORED/DENIED. If you would like to roleplay, please see the main account of either Fizz or Dream (...just know that neither of us are very typical when it comes to roleplaying and will probably turn you down if you're a beginner/don't use proper grammar). This is not the account of one person, so please don't treat it as such. It's not fair to anyone involved. (Questions regarding this account and its stories are a different matter -- while these messages can be directed to any of the accounts we have control over, we'll be more than happy to answer if you send them here.) DeviantART -- World Profile: Mechanical Tyranny Original Document -- World Profile: Mechanical Tyranny (Google Docs) Note: This is a headcannon of what the world depicted in Disney's Cars/Planes is like, and this is also the world that Mechanical Tyranny takes place in. This is, by nature, a crossover of many, many fandoms, the most prominent one being Star Trek. Coincidences are purely intentional. WORLD~ Name: United Earth Time Set: Unconditionally quarantined by the Federation in 3010 Races: Human, Artificial Intelligence (AI), various alien races victim of the quarantine. Those who have not been converted exist only in hiding. Continents: Anywhere a vehicle can function is occupied to some degree; each "country" still retains its identity for the most part (The US still has states, etc). The only difference is that they all answer to the central government, and all law-abiding citizens are vehicles. General life expectancy: AI and those who are converted do not have a limit on their lifespans unless they wish to die or are killed. Some are not permitted to die due to their contributions, technological or otherwise, to the government. Genre of story in which set: Science Fiction Religion(s): Strongly discouraged around AI especially. Wars: The (unofficial) Rebellion. Major events in history: 3010 -- The Epidemic breaks out; vehicular conversion of humans and humanoid aliens begins after the Federation quarantines the planet. 3037 -- Project 36 is activated. 3560 -- Mechanical Tyranny takes place. Major historical figures: Unknown. High King/Queen: Unknown. Rival: None -- The Federation does not know of what is happening on this planet, and will not interfere as long as the quarantine stands. Languages spoken: Converted organic beings speak whatever language they please -- alien languages are strongly discouraged, but there is no official ban on them. Artificial Intelligence vehicles are able to understand Droid-speak. Some are able to communicate in it, but in most cases they can’t or simply choose not to; they are programmed to act as human-like as possible. Organic beings, unless they spend a lot of time around AI or are partial AI post-conversion, are unable to understand Droid-speak. Celebrations/holidays: Holidays are celebrated based on region; many religious holidays have lost their meaning, but are acknowledged regardless. Central Government~ Name: There is no official name. Commonly referred to as "the government," "Them," or, when someone is associated with them, "My Superiors" or "We/Us" Size: Encompasses the planet Rival governments: There is an underground rebel government; it is neither official nor organized. Celebrations/holidays: Each "country" still celebrates its own holidays as if there were no central government. Major Import/Export: This planet is completely cut off from the rest of the universe. Space travel anywhere other than the moon has been discontinued, and there is no contact with any other government that would be considered a trade relationship. Agriculture: Corn and anything else that can be processed into fuel. All “countries” are expected to contribute if their climate and terrain are suitable. Architecture: Most everything has been reconstructed to reflect the Revolution in all its "glory" as well as to accommodate for vehicles. Parking lots are nonexistent. Terrain: Cities have grown to massive proportions, the amount of developed land easily doubling. Any and all terrain suitable for farming has been cleared and is being farmed on a rotational basis. Major landmarks: Anything that is reminiscent of the once-human population has been either rebuilt in the likeness of vehicles or destroyed completely. Race/Species~ Name: Human/humanoid species Appearance: Most appear as normal vehicles; the majority of forklifts were originally human, but it is not a rule. They can be any type of vehicle. Physical characteristics: While this is not the rule by any means, the eye color of humans tends to be more natural-looking. All colors are entirely possible, however. Don’t have as fluid of motion as AI vehicles do; they occasionally act as if they’re uncomfortable in their own skin. Aircraft test their flaps before takeoff much more often than AI aircraft do, almost to the point of paranoia in some cases. Found: Typically humans congregate in small towns well outside of cities. However, this is not a steadfast rule. Societal Oddities: This is the species that often ‘slips up’ in their speech patterns -- they use words and phrases that don’t necessarily make sense in context. (ie. “I’ll put him in jail ‘till he rots. No, wait, check that. I’ll put him in jail ‘till the jail rots on top of him…”) Personality Oddities: They tend to “break their directives,” as AI vehicles call it, meaning they end up doing things that are not typical for their model. (ie. A crop duster racing, a big-city Porsche running a motel in a small town, etc.) Life expectancy: Converted humans can expect to live -- easily -- hundreds of years, so long as they don’t make the government unhappy with them or have other complications when they were converted (ie. trial runs of the technology before it was perfected). Race/Species~ Name: Artificial Intelligence Appearance: A disproportionate amount of AI are aircraft. Very, very few AI are forklifts. Physical characteristics: Can act much more natural than humans can. These vehicles are the only species that can look and act as babies or small children. Exclusively make up all established Projects. This is not a rule, but they tend to have blue eyes more so than other colors. Found: AI tend to be closer to government hotspots, like large cities or military bases. They can appear in small towns, but they are normally easily distinguished by how they behave compared to the other residents. (ie. Leadbottom) Societal Oddities: They tend to act “robotic,” as humans put it, but some can act more humanlike than others. Directives are an AI’s purpose in life. Very, very few, if any, have outright broken them. They ask questions that may be considered inappropriate for the situation, especially big, philosophical questions. Humans have been warned that answering these questions may cause the AI to malfunction and possibly deactivate themselves. In some cases, it may be true, but in most other instances they’re perfectly capable of handling it. They may just outright deny the answer and go on with their lives. Unlike other species, most AI do not have a concept of what death is. Personality Oddities: Attached to their ways and directives. They often fear change. Modifications of routine and physical structure of AI are very difficult for them to adjust to, and it can take them a long time to go back to functioning normally. Emotions are just a program to them; occasionally they may truly understand and feel them, but most of the time they are merely expressing what they think is the societal norm. When stressed, power will be diverted to other, more important functions than fitting into society. (ie. Voice will become metallic, personality becomes cold and distant, etc) In extreme situations, AI may “default” back into their most simple directives as a way to reduce necessary processing power. This can become self-destructive if not stopped. Life expectancy: Unless programmed to terminate themselves, they can expect to live just as long and even longer than converted beings. |
