![]() Author has written 1 story for Wrestling. 'I believe that if life gives you lemons, you should make lemonade... And try to find somebody whose life has given them vodka, and have a party...' Now that you've stumbled upon my profile, let us get our greetings and salutations out of the way. The name is Rookie, or Nellie, although you could call me Ornella but do not call me that unless you wish to die a slow and painful death-- Well not exactly, but you get the gist. 19. Drama Student. Avid Reader. Caffeine Addict. Disney Enthusiast. I like to think of myself as a ray of sunshine, but that's probably false: I'm a ball of sass, charm and a dash of inappropriateness. I tend to write and submit to SYOT's, and try (sometimes in vain) to update regularly. I've begun a cycle of stories that I like to call 'The Remembrance Cycle' Official members of the 'Nellie Loves Me' Club: In other words, these are the writers who have supported my writing endeavors and genuinely made me feel welcomed in the 'Fanfiction Community'...Plus they're generally awesome people. This is an exclusive club, although it is pretty easy to become a member. CreativeAJL I can't put into words how amazing Ansley is. He is not only a talented writer, who inspires me to no end. He is a great person to talk to: Whether we're bouncing ideas off of each other like a rapid game of ping pong, or we're just chatting about complete and utter randomness. I could gush about his charm, or the way that he showers people with compliments (which is great for my ego) but I won't. He is humble, and I am blessed to have the opportunity to get to know someone as wonderful as Ansley. *Wipes away a tear FlawlessCatastrophe Brooke. 'The Genderless Ruler of Procrastination'. The perpetual bad influence ;) I joke. Brooke is another talented writer, with a special talent for finding the best videos on 'YouTube'. This is the person who somehow manages to procrastinate on procrastinating which is a real talent. I've said on more than one occasion that our conversations both terrify and amuse me... And it's true: I won't even go into detail about what we talk about because people would definitely try and have us locked away. We are both full of sass, sarcasm and everything that can make a person AWESOME. Wolvesareawesome13 Wofie, Wolfie, Wolfie... Now where do I start? The fact that you are like a machine who churns out great idea, after great idea. Or maybe our seemingly random chats: Your level of talent is intimidating, and as we begin collaborating: I can't wait to see how I grow as a writer under your expert tutelage. You were probably one of the first people to talk to me on this site, and I am so grateful that you decided to message me. Music Rules The World Lilly without a doubt is one of the sweetest people on the planet. From our shared passion of writing, to Disney, to musical theater: You are like my 'mini me' except you're a far nicer person than I can hope to be. But alas, I can't wait to see your writing grow from where it is now to the NEXT LEVEL: It's already great, but I can tell that it is going to get a lot better. Paradigm of Writing Paradigm is lurking in my back garden, and I am in turn lurking in his. But that is something to be appreciated: We've had some very strange conversations, that we will NEVER mention again. If we do, then I'm going to need a lot of therapy. His current SYOT is awesome, and he plays Pokemon: So he is pretty much my spirit animal. santiago.poncini20 20, is such an awesome guy. He will always review, and has such strong opinions which are both hilarious and insightful. I always look forward to hear his opinions and he creates such unique/flawed tributes. We have our little chats, I truly enjoy them and genuinely look forward to the next. Cayylubb Caleb, my adorable puppy. There is very little else to say, he's snarky as Hell but with a strict training regime we'll sort that. The man is a freaking machine, updating practically every other day: When does he sleep? All the time, so like: WHY CAN HE UPDATE SO MUCH?? Plus, he is as much of a theatre nerd as me...And that shit is important. #GivePavartiAChance Nellie's Tribute Parade This is where the tributes I have submitted will be posted with a little bio and so on... I have a lot of tributes. This will be updated ASAP The Rookie Writings: My current story is 'Lest We Forget: The 1st Annual Hunger Games' An SYOT focused on the original Hunger Games. I like to think that I am working as close to canon as possible, but admittedly due to my lack of access to Suzanne Collins' mind means that technically this series of stories are AU. 'The Remembrance Cycle' is something I'm proud to call my own, or will be when I complete it. It's probably going to be the death of me, but I truly believe that it is going to be awesome. It is comprised of 5 parts but predominantly will focus on two Hunger Games: The 1st and the 15th. The 5 Stories are: 'Lest We Forget' A traditional SYOT following the 1st Hunger Games. It will encompass the implementation of the Hunger Games in Panem. It will introduce subplots for the Capitol, and hopefully will be enough to draw people in for the ride that is 'The Remembrance Cycle'. 'Never Forgotten' A series of one-shots that will be updated when a tribute passes in 'Lest We Forget': It will be a eulogy for the character, and also explore the effects of their death on their loved ones and District. They may become nothing more than a statistic, but I won't let my tributes be forgotten. 'In Retrospect' Is a series of one-shots that will introduce the Victors of the 2nd through the 14th Hunger Games (who will in turn become the Mentors for the 15th Hunger Games) - It will also follow the plot lines through from 'Lest We Forget' into 'To Be Remembered. 'To Be Remembered' The official sequel to 'LWF', a SYOT following the 15th Hunger Games. It will see through the Capitol and District subplots and hopefully provide a thrilling conclusion to the Cycle. 'In Remembrance' The companion piece to 'To Be Remembered'. Functioning similarly to Never Forgotten, with one shots about each tribute exploring the effect of their deaths on their District, families etc. 'Lest We Forget' District One M: Saphir DeNoire, 18 F: Rose Francesca Pepperhill, 18 District Two M: Jake Richardson, 18 F: Malva Kaestner, 16 District Three M: Fletcher Kane, 16 3: Didgit Slatter, 18 District Four M: Ari Grey, 18 F: Remi Scarr, 17 District Five: M: Edison Foster, 12 F: Quinn Lectra, 13 District Six: M: Abraham 'Abby' Cooper, 14 F: Amara Sinclair, 16 District Seven M: Asher Wilde, 17 F: Catherine 'Cat' Forbes, 15 District Eight M: Patrick Weaver, 18 F: Issy Jansingh, 17 District Nine: M: Faron Jennings, 13 F: Millet Rye, 18 District Ten M: Elek Cordova, 15 F: Dai Ronilker, 16 District Eleven M: Weller Worthen, 12 F: Olivia Bittercress, 18 District Twelve M: Maxxie Benthoven Bent, 14 F: Zana Einsburg, 15 I will be shortly be adding a small profile for each tribute, as well as further information as it becomes available: Training Score, Alliances, Kills, Final Placement etc. Rest assured, although we're in the beginning stages: This story has been plotted fully and I know how this will end: It is a matter of simply typing it up. I update at least once a week, and when possible I will update more frequently. ANNOUNCEMENT: Despite being only near the beginning of my first story, I wish to begin collecting my tributes for the sequel. Is it presumptuous? Yes. But I want to ensure that I have the cream of the crop: Hello and thank you for showing an interest in submitting a tribute to ‘To Be Remembered: The 15th Annual Hunger Games’ – you can submit as many tributes as you’d like. But when I am selecting my tributes, I will pick one tribute per submitter: There is only ONE exception to this rule: If you think that you could create two tributes that may have a connection: Cousins from different Districts, siblings or lovers… I may consider it, but your reasoning would have to be very good. If you submit two as a ‘Combo Deal’ I reserve the right to only take one into the games if I feel that would benefit the story. Submissions will be open until I reach the Final 16 of ‘Lest We Forget’. I will then select my tributes for the sequel and post the list once we reach the final 12 or maybe 8. Yes, you will be waiting a while for these tributes to make their debut BUT I truly believe it will be worth it. The form looks incredibly long, and it is probably longer than the average form: But the asterisked segments are just some pointers, once removed it will not seem as intimidating. I thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this form, and I apologise for the length: But as I said, I need the best tributes. And so I need to be a bit more prudent when selecting the 24 who will enter the Arena. Part One: THE TRIBUTE Please send this to me as a new PM labelled in the following format: To Be Remembered Tribute: District, Gender, Age. Name: *This is Panem, the names are usually a little different. They can be District related, but that is not crucial. Nickname, if applicable: *Is there a reason they were given the nickname or is it a simple abbreviation? Age: *Please be aware that ‘Careers’ will be 17 or 18, but can be younger under special circumstances: If they’re younger then include your explanation under the ‘Reasons for Volunteering’ section. Physical Appearance: *A face claim could be used, but if you do please explain how they differ from said face claim: Any distinguishing marks, tattoos or piercings etc. If they’re drastically different from the ‘typical’ appearance of their District, please explain why. I’m not saying that you can’t have a red head in District 12, before the ‘Dark Days’ inter-District travel may have been prevalent and therefore: You’re tribute could have descendants from another District. Initial Impressions: *Although I try not to make snap judgments about people, it does happen. From a merely physical perspective, what impression does your tribute create? Do they appear intimidating, as a pushover? Personality: *This needs to be detailed, every behaviour has a reason however obscure they may be. I love to write a three-dimensional character: I want my tributes to be like diamonds- Multi-faceted. Some people are simply psychopaths or sociopathic: But not everybody is that way. A series of adjectives will not suffice. Family: *A list of names, ages and relation will not suffice. It does not require massive detailing, but please give me the flavour of the relationship between your tribute and their relatives. Not every family is tragic, but in some instances they are: Family members are not immune to resenting/fearing one another and so on. Friends: *Most people do have a few friends, but I understand that some people are ‘loners’ but if they are friendless please leave a valid reason. Is it because their parents push them to overachieve and therefore they’re spending far too much time in extracurricular activities? Are they socially awkward? Other People Important to Them: *Who, and more importantly why? If they’re a Career I imagine that they would have a bond with their trainers. If it is a previous Victor, only describe the nature of their relationship: I have a list of the 14 other Victors. Status within District: *This encompasses social, economic and political status within the District. Are they Middle Class? If so, how is this evident? What does your tribute, their families and their friends do to contribute to their District’s society? Are they criminals, infamous and a little feared? I want a flavour of their role within the District. Do they have a job? Greatest Ambition/Greatest Desire: *Not mutually exclusive, but it can be in some cases. Fears: *We all have them, some are irrational. Others are not, is there a reason for these fears? If so, what is it? Worst Memory: Favourite Memory: *Our environments and experiences shape whom we are as people: Someone’s favourite memory is something they seek comfort from but it could also be a moment of personal realisation: These little things are important when I’m constructing the tribute as a character. Did it contribute to how they act, or how did these instances affect your character? Quirks/Mannerisms: *We all have them, a weird habit that is very distinguishable: I personally laugh/giggle when I am nervous or I can’t shut up. It could be something simple, like biting their lip. History: *I expect a little depth to the backstory of your tributes. Any profound occurrences in their history? Or have they led a very straightforward life. I just need a little backstory, to see your tribute in a context that isn’t the Hunger Games. Strengths: *Please elaborate on each strength: Are they physically strong? If so, why are they that way? This could be due to their occupation, or maybe they’re exercise freaks. Not all strengths are physical; the mind is a valuable weapon. You can list as many strengths as you like, but be prepare to list just as many weaknesses. Weaknesses: *Please make them valid weakness, yes being unable to swim is a weakness but just like with the strengths: The mind is also prone to weakness, are they reluctant to kill? Foolhardy, or reckless? Reaped/Volunteered: *I am reluctant to accept Volunteers from outlying Districts, but it could happen. But be original with your reasoning: Are they suicidal? A sociopath who craves the fame associated with being a Victor and so on? Obviously they can volunteer for friends/relatives, but try to think outside the box if they’re going to Volunteer. Reaction/Reasoning: *Everybody would react differently, there will be those who try to appear composed. But there will also be those who try to flee and are dragged onstage by Peacekeepers. Someone might be sick on the Escort’s shoes: Anything could happen. Try to imagine if it were you who had been reaped. I mean, a psychopath could be excited about being Reaped. Visitors in the Justice Building: *All tributes have the right to refuse visitors if they wish to. I don’t need details about what would be said, I can derive that myself from your details about their relationship with the person listed above. ALL Careers, if trained explicitly for the Games, will be visited by their ‘Key Worker’ to give some last minute strategy advice. Token: *A token is not mandatory, and it won’t always have a significant meaning but if it does please explain. Also, a brief description would be helpful. If it is a stuffed animal, what animal is it? Are there any distinguishing marks? For example, a teddybear could be missing an eye or an ear etc. PART TWO: THE CAPITOL/PRE-GAMES Impression of the Capitol: *This is not their opinion of the Capitol, when they first arrive what do they think: Are they in awe of how different it is to the Districts? Disgusted by the level of luxury? Resentful? Jealous? Opinions on the Capitol, and the Hunger Games: *You can disagree with the Capitol’s laws and policies and still appreciate the games as a political device. Keep this very general, but obviously if they are ‘Rebel Sympathisers’ these views may be a little radicalised. Not everyone has an overly informed, or overly elaborate, opinion on things: Indifference exists. As does quiet resignation. Re-Make Centre. Are they Co-operative with their prep teams? How do they communicate with their Stylist? *Not everyone will be comfortable in this scenario. Being stark naked in front of others would be an unnerving experience. Will your tribute be chatty? Dismissive? Will they ask a lot of questions? Will they try to give ideas to the Stylist and be involved in the whole process? Parade. How would they react? How do they feel? What would they think looking at the other tributes? *It can be unnerving to be put on display like this. Are they intimidated by the others? Do they feel awkward in their costume? – Are they resentful of the elaborate costumes of District One for example? Do they have pre-conceived notions about the other Districts? Training. What are the primary areas they plan to train in? *Not everyone will go towards the weapons: But I highly suggest they at least try to learn something? Are they developing pre-existing skills? Or learning something new? How do they communicate with the other tributes? *Not everyone is a social butterfly, this is a stressful situation. Some people may be withdrawn and unwilling to talk to others initially. People are prejudiced; they might be racist and therefore rude towards people of different racial backgrounds. They could have lost a friend or family member to the games, becoming resentful towards the District the killer hailed from. Does your tribute have a preferred weapon? Or a particular form of combat where they excel? *Not everyone will favour close combat. Will they try to inadvertently kill others via poison? Sexuality and such is a weapon: If you’re manipulating another and they are killing others, you’re enabling it. Are they willing to make an alliance? *Not everyone would want an alliance, they could have a strategy that revolves around being a loner. What do they want in an alliance? Someone strong, someone smart? How large would they like the alliance to be? Outlying District tributes can be considered to be a ‘Career’, but what is it that they would bring to the Career alliance? What would they show the Gamemakers in their private session? *Some tributes won’t show their full potential due to their strategy. To achieve a higher tier score: 8 and upwards. You will need to demonstrate a fully rounded set of skills: Weaponry, plants etc. Or a particularly sadistic streak etc. Training Score? Reaction? *What do you think your tribute should achieve? I will use this as a guideline but the final score will be my choice: But how would they react to a high score? Would they be pleased or would it annoy them: As if it might make them a target? Would they feel disheartened with a lower score etc? What would their interview angle be? *This is an interesting one: Some angles are a little cookie cutter. Explain why they chose this angle and how it will appeal to the Capitol. They’re competing for the Capitol’s attention: They need to stand out, how do they plan to do this? Kiss the interviewer? I don’t know, but make them stand out. Give a few examples of Quotes: *These will not be used, but they help me imagine how you believe your tribute speaks. Are they overly fond of expletives? Do they talk in riddles? Are they overly concise, or give elaborate answers? When they’re about to launch into the Arena, what are they thinking? *They could literally be thinking they feel sick. How they’re meant to meet the allies. Of the Arena, their families. Absolutely anything: This just gives me an inkling as to their mind-set as they’re about to enter the Arena. Remember for 23 of the tributes, they’re about to enter the place where they’re going to die. PART THREE: THE GAMES. How will they react in the bloodbath? *Will they simply run? Try to gather supplies, or meet their allies? Some will fight, they want to get the most precious supplies: Without them, how are they meant to survive? People may not be thinking clearly at this point. Will they watch what is unfolding to try and identify the big threats etc. Will they turn on their allies? Anything can happen. What is the general strategy your tribute will utilise? *This should be a brief overview of how they plan to go throughout the games, a short narrative. But remember the Arena can work against some strategies. This is just an imagining of how you believe your tribute would go. Remember there are mutts/traps, and a Feast. Just give me a few key points on how they will with certain things: By now I should have a decent enough understanding of your tribute to know how they would react. Is there anything you’d like to see in the Arena? *Would your tribute play up to the cameras to try and win some sponsors: Cause a scene. A very drawn out bloody death. Would they kill themselves? Anything really. Would your tribute have some form of breakdown? How does your tribute react to death? *Not everyone is a killer, and it can have very poignant effects on an individual. Not everyone can detach themselves from a situation, despite how aloof they believe themselves to be. Would they find some sadistic pleasure from it? How would your tribute react if they won? *Someone would be relieved, others would be horrified. Just give me a flavour of how your tribute would feel if they survived the Hell of the Hunger Games. PART FOUR: QUESTIONS Why should your tribute win? Please make this rather detailed. If your tribute were to die, what would their last words be? Or their thoughts? *This is just a trivial question, but I think it might be important. List five trivial facts about your tribute: (This could be anything; they may be left handed or religious. Trivial things when incorporated into the story give it more depth) How would your tribute approach a romance within the Games? *This is not for everyone. But are they willing to have a romance with someone prior to and during the Games? How would this affect their strategy? Would it be a genuine romance, or a ploy? Would they just want a casual sex partner etc.? |
