![]() Author has written 32 stories for Metroid, Legend of Zelda, Tales of Symphonia, Star Wars, Star Wars, Chuck, and Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles. General Disclaimer, Of Special Interest For Grumpy and/or Litigious Types: The intellectual properties in my stories that were created and are copyrighted by individuals other than myself belong solely to said individuals. My stories are for entertainment purposes only, and I make no attempt to profit from them in any way, but all original material belongs to me. (The irony of that claim is not lost on me. ;P ) There, I think that about covers all the legal mumbo-jumbo. Translation: What you will find on this page is fan-fiction, meaning that somebody else came up with the general basis for my stories, but I came up with the stories themselves, including any original plots, characters and settings. My stories are just for fun, to show appreciation for things I like, and to entertain myself and hopefully other people, as well. Please don't sue me; I'm a college student and therefore have no money for you to take. ;P About My Style: Despite the mainstream stereotypes about fan-fiction, I do not write romance and/or pornography featuring famous fictional characters. If that's what you're looking for, you're going to be sorely disappointed by my works' utter lack of long speeches about gushy mushy feelings and/or explicit copulation. On the other hand, if you're looking for action-heavy stories with intricate storylines, complex characterization, and goodly doses of humor ranging from Whedon- to Python-style, chances are you may find something you enjoy. That leads into my stance on 'pairings': Romance is not the primary focus of any of my stories. It can be an important element of a well-rounded story, to be sure, but it is always secondary in my work, supporting the character development and plot rather than driving them. Therefore, the 'character' tags on all of my stories are to indicate the primary characters of the story, not the main 'romantic relationship', so keep that in mind when browsing through the list down there. It's a fact of this site and fan-fiction in general that a lot of people are here to write romance stories, but I personally prefer adventure. About My Stories: Aside from the various smaller stories, I have two main series, one 'Legend of Zelda', and one 'Star Wars', more information below. The oneshots are almost all self-contained. Some are serious, some are funny. Some are funnier than others. ;P Legend of Zelda: Most of my 'Zelda' fic belongs to my monstrous 'Twilight Princess'-centric epic series. My suggested reading order is: 'Hero's Origin'-'The Fourth Piece'-'The Hero of Lightning'-'Lights in the Darkness'-'The Secret War'. ('Secret War' was abandoned for reasons explained in the last chapter.) I also have a few humorous oneshots and a trilogy of self-insert parodies, in which I, well... parody self-inserts. Read them if you like. Or don't; it's your time, to do with as you will. ;P Star Wars: My other monstrous epic, the 'One Missed Strike' series. It was born from an idle thought in January 2009: 'What if Darth Vader had escaped Mustafar unscathed and took over the Empire?' As you can see, things snowballed from there. Anything Star Wars with 'One Missed Strike' in the title is set in my AU; everything else is more or less set in the canon universe. For reader convenience, I have collected the original series into one collection entitled 'One Missed Strike: The Complete Original Trilogy', from which you may then proceed to 'The New Jedi Order'. Terminator: I watched 'Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles' in its original broadcast run, and I was and continue to be extremely aggravated by its cancellation. (Just like a dozen or so other shows that aired on FOX that I could name...) An official continuation or even conclusion of the story still seems rather unlikely, so I went ahead and wrote my own. Being, as I am, me, I decided to have some fun with it and put my own spin on things while still staying true to the characters and the overall spirit of the show. 'Chuck Versus Judgment Day': A 'movie-length' crossover between 'TSCC' and 'Chuck', born from an idle thought that it would be interesting if the secret agent 'Greta' who Summer Glau played in one episode of 'Chuck' was really her 'TSCC' character, Cameron. As ideas often do, this quickly snowballed into an actual story, which turned out to be one of my favorite things I've ever written. 'After The End': Set just after 'Chuck Versus Judgment Day'. As John Connor deals with the aftermath of April 21st, 2011, he wonders: now what? The 'Metroid' stuff isn't very good, so don't bother with it. The only reason any of those three are still up is because I refuse to delete my old stories. The 'Tales of Symphonia' one is just a silly humor story I abandoned a while ago. Other Stuff: Since I've been writing for a while, I'll leave you with some advice for those just starting out on the path of writing: Never stop practicing. Every word you write down is another chance to improve your writing style, so always keep on the lookout for ways you can do better. Don't be too proud to take criticism or advice from others, because aside from the occasional jerk, most of us are here to help. And also, even more important, don't ever give up on writing. Sure, you may have a story here and there that just won't work and you have to drop it, but what you do in that case is move on to something else until you get un-stuck. Inspiration is fickle; you never know when it's going to come or how long it'll last, so just write down your ideas in as much detail as you can when you get them. Trust me, it helps a lot later on. And finally, if you're a new reader, and you're reading some of my older stories for the first time, don't be afraid to leave a review, and please be honest. I'm very curious to see what other people think of my writing; if I wasn't, I wouldn't be putting it up on the Internet, now would I? ;P Finally finally: DFTBA! (Don't Forget To Be Awesome!) |
