Author has written 2 stories for Misc. Movies, and Dead Poets Society.

Hey, I'm Amanda. I am a new author on FF.net, and I love to read and write fanfic!

I'm still in high school as a junior, and hope to major in either journalism, political science, or history and minor in Russian when I enter college.

In short, I have a fascination with politics, especially modern American Presidential history. Ask me anything about the 1960s or 70s and I'll guarantee you I know it-- music, movies, politics, current events, etc. I am, what you would call, a person living in the wrong time. I obviously love history, and consider myself quite a nerd when it comes down to it. I enjoy reading (historical fiction, especially) and view reading as the base of one's knowledge.

I have been to Russia recently, and have an obsession with the country and everything in it. The culture and history associated with it is spectacular, but the people who live there are without a doubt the most generous, friendly, and amazing people I have ever met! The food, as well, is incredible, but the Russian people have gained a place in my heart. I would love to live there someday (for work, preferably) and thus want to learn the language-- it's so cool to listen to!

To be brief (or my version of brief, anyway):

interests: MUSIC, hockey (go Bruins!), my friends, family, school (as much as I have to be), my dog Cody, reading, TV, sleeping

Music: any rock, alternative, indie, and techno/house. I love classic rock (Steve Miller Band, ELO, Yardbirds, Animals, the Who, Boston, Alice Cooper, Led Zeppelin, etc.) I also am a huge fan of big band/swing (or anything from the 1940s and early 50s). Frank Sinatra is my hero...There are too many to list on here, but I listen to pretty much everything but rap/hip hop. Alexi Murdoch, All Time Low, Cold War Kids, Saosin, Something Corporate, Rooney, Jet, the Kooks, Umbrellas, John Mayer, Forgive Durden, Classic Crime, The Cast Of, Lovedrug, the Shore, Augustana, Cartel, Simon and Garfunkel, Young Love, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, OK Go, Kaiser Chiefs, Ben Kweller, and My Favorite Highway are some favorites, among others.

Movies: All The President's Men, Miracle, The Notebook, Godfather I and II, Red Eye, Pearl Harbor, Deja Vu, Flyboys, The Four Feathers, Wicker Park, Fracture, Lord of the Rings, the Patriot, Smokey and the Bandit, Hunt for Red October, Dead Poets Society, The More the Merrier, anything with Frank Sinatra, Girl With A Pearl Earring, The Prestige, Breakfast Club, 16 Candles, Italian Job (both the original and remake), Good Will Hunting, Bobby, Breach, Rudy, Remember The Titans, Guess Who, Alot Like Love, etc.

TV: Arrested Development (best show in existence), Psych, Gilmore Girls, That 70s Show, The Office, House, most of the stuff on Style network, Food TV when I'm feeling hungry.

Books: anything by Tracy Chevalier, pretty much all the Russian authors, "Farienheit 451" by Ray Bradbury, "All The Presidents Men" by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstien, the Memoirs of Richard Nixon, anything historical, political, or romance (only if it's not too cheesy), "A Great and Terrible Beauty" and "Rebel Angels" by Libba Bray, "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton, "Peter Pan" by J.M. Barrie, "Dream If You're Feeling Blue" by Elizabeth Berg, "The Game" by Ken Dryden, "The Boys of Winter" by Wayne Coffey, Joan Bauer, "Amaryllis" by Craig Christ-Evans, "Ophelia" by Lisa Klien, "A Northern Light" by Jennifer Donnely, and anything by Ann Rinaldi, to mention a few.
