![]() Author has written 1 story for One Piece. This is where I write a little about myself, isn't it? Well, I'm a fan of animation. Not just anime (but yes I do like that, too) but of animation in general. Whether it be Japanese or western, it doesn't matter so long as the animation is fluid and the scenery and character designs is absolutely gorgeous. And of course, if the characters are written well. My favorite genres would be fantasy, adventure, and romance. I love it when its all three in one ^-^. Of course, I enjoy other genres so long as the characters and the story are good. I don't like a lot of TV shows, so I don't watch television very often. I prefer to read, write, play video games, or practice drawing instead. Things that bother me Mary Sues: Where every other character acts like they are perfect in every way, and everything is easy for them. They are the most beautiful people on this earth (or whatever planet the story takes place on). The entire plot is always changing in their favor, sometimes breaking the canon that already exists (coughTwilightcough). They are unique in very way possible. All of the guys/girls want to be with them, and everyone else is their friend save for the characters the author doesn't like. What's not to like about them? Everything. Let's face it. Perfection is impossible to obtain in real life, so why should fictional characters be perfect? I could go on for hours about this topic, so I'll leave off here. Dialogue only: Unless I am reading a script, there better be some narration and more details, and not just people talking. I want to see the surroundings. Where are the characters? What are they doing while (they don't have to pause to move around; there are plenty of people who do things while they are talking to someone) they're talking? Heck, what do the characters look like? Please avoid going overboard in description (this can be a sign of a Mary Sue), but still give readers enough details so that they can create a clear image in their heads. This will also make the scene flow better. It was love at first sight! I cannot count how many books/movies/video games/etc. I've encountered where the main leads are in love the moment they lay eyes on each other. Its painful to watch/read! I have never seen a relationship that started and ended like that. Usually they end with the couple breaking up. The best way to have characters fall in love is to build friendship and trust first. They don't have to be together for years to do this, but if this is supposed to happen in a few chapters, then please make sure to include any time skips (like how many months have they known each other; I'm not fond of stories where they fall in love within weeks). Show that the characters can get along as friends before even attempting to be a couple. After that, slowly start easing them into a romantic relationship. Now if its a story about a bad relationship, then it has an excuse. But again, don't go overboard. Twilight: I dislike that series greatly, actually. The only reason I go to see the movies is to laugh at them. That, and I (unfortunetly) read all four books, so I'm a little curious how they're going pull them off on the big screen. Especially Breaking Dawn...the worst one out of all the four. And it really annoys me when people compare Harry Potter to it. What's to compare? Awesome wizards vs mary sues and gary stus? But in the end I know this new fad will pass just as quickly as it came. What I like to Write OCs: I'll go ahead and admit that I like to write about OCs. To me, its fun to invent my own characters, and I try my hardest to make them blend with the world they live in. I try to make the character feel like they belong in the universe they live in, and not stand out too much. But if the OC is the main character, then they have to have something about them that stands out a little. Every main character does. Fight Scenes: Fight scenes are fun to write. One reason is because there is so much energy in the scene, and its interesting to write fight scenes in different stories, because a fight will unfold differently depending on the universe the characters are in. I've always enjoyed reading a well written fight, too. So its safe to say that I'm a fan of action stories. What do they look like? Now this can be good or bad, but I enjoy putting a lot of detail into a character's appearance. Not only do I do this with my OCs, but I also describe canon characters in a lot detail. Now this is not so bad with OCs, especially when the character is being introduced for the first time, but I know that there are people who will get bored when I'm describing the canon characters in great detail. They already know what the person looks like, why do I need to go on about it? Its a habit I have, and I need to work on describing all the characters (canon and OC) in just enough detail to get the point across. Details: To be honest, I enjoy writing things in detail. The appearance of certain places, a character's appearance, what they are doing, and the emotions they are feeling. I also enjoy reading detailed stories, because then to me it feels like the story breathes more. The characters have life and everything feels more realistic and less like a giant cardboard box. Where are the characters? What does it look like? Who is this character? What do they feel when they enter a certain area, see certain events, or speak with other characters? What are they're likes and dislikes? What does it feel like to hold a sword or to shoot an arrow? I am also a big fan of the fantasy genre. So, I also enjoy describing magic. Such as how it feels when a character uses magic. What does it feel like to charge their energy or magic spell? There is a lot to describe in a story. However, I will admit that sometimes I put too much detail in a story.
