A great big hello to all my fellow fanfiction lovers! I'd like to begin by telling you all a bit about myself. My name is Mistie, and I am the mother of two really spoiled cats. Andrew, 13, and Ta-cun, 11, who have been my babies since they were each three weeks old and are my very own breathing heating pads when I'm sick. LOL! At age 15, I started becoming sick more and more frequently. It took four years and a few quacks to misdiagnose me before finally learning that I have Crohn's Disease, an inflammatory disease that affects the entire digestive system but primarily the intestines. Frankly, I couldn't give you an exact number if my life depended upon it, but I've had around thirty surgeries and have spent every holiday in hospital at some point. The key to surviving long hospital stays with some part of your sanity remaining is having things to keep your mind and hands busy. It's the reason I taught myself cross stitching! It's also how I discovered I liked writing. I didn't even know what fanfiction was when I wrote my first stories in the mid-'80s!

I became a posted writer in the early '90s thanks to the original Prodigy service. A group of us, the MacPackers, shared stories we'd created about our beloved Swiss Army knife toting, duct tape wielding hero, MacGyver. While I continued to write after Prodigy's demise, it was just to keep my brain busy during extended hospital stays and such, never intending for any of these stories to see the light of day. Years back, I came across a series of stories written by an AMAZING writer named Cindy Combs who had crossed my fav hero into The Sentinel universe. (For those who missed out, The Sentinel was about Detective James Ellison, an ex-Army Ranger with heightened senses, and his police consultant partner, Blair Sandburg, college student/teacher who happened to be doing his dissertation on sentinels. Blair helps Jim learn to use his senses properly, becoming his "guide" as well as his best friend.) Frankly, I couldn't believe the whole MacGyver/Sentinel connection had never occurred to me before as it fit so perfectly the way Cindy had done it, and it inspired me like never before! I have an original character who manages to pull multiple television show universes together in ways I didn't even see coming when my overactive imagination first birthed her! I'm currently working on a number of stories for InuYasha, MacGyver, The Sentinel, NCIS, Adam-12 and Emergency! depending on who my muse feels like playing with. My biggest pet peeve when it comes to fanfiction happens to be people who post part of a story and never finish it, so I vow to never post ANYTHING that I haven't completed.

Andy is demanding I cuddle him, so I'll sign off for now! LOL! It's difficult to type with an 18 pound cat draped over your shoulder!!!
