![]() Author has written 1 story for Sherlock. It goes like this: I have been telling myself stories for as long as I can remember. I told myself I could never be a writer. That never stopped the stories. They kept coming anyway. I wrote them, for me. I have been into obsessing about good narratives since forever. Maybe it was my love for fiction. Maybe it was that some characters come and stay with me for a long time, longer than they were planned to do. I read novels, and the characters in them stuck in my fingers. I watched movies, and in the following days their characters would be living besides me. I stuck with TV shows, and started living in their parallel reality for quite some time. Wondered where their worlds went while I was living in mine. I grew older, but not wiser (maybe wider). Built an adult life, with a husband and dogs and cats and many, many books. Had works with long hours that I liked but not loved. Grew tired of that and started having a work that I fully love, and hobbies that left me create stories in a stage, and living within characters (mainly improv, but also clowning and theater). I kept writing stories, just for me. And then, suddenly, I obsessed over BBC Sherlock. It was not my first obsession (I was a X-phile long ago, I had been quite into Star Wars my whole life and Star Trek TNG was really important during a period of my life, I've lived in the Middle Earth, I've walked along Paris and Buenos Aires with Oliveira), but it was the first show that compelled me to search for more. More than the show or the stories. Maybe it was the hiatus, the long waits, the impossibility of surviving such a long time without knowing what was happening with these characters… Maybe it had to do with me having learned that stories are just waiting to be told. That's how I discovered this place, and have spent a good deal of hours reading what others like me have to say about characters we love. And now, two years later, I've finally started sharing what I write here and in AO3. Will this last? I sincerely have no idea. But I'll enjoy the ride. Hope you do too. |
