Welcome to my homepage. This is a second FF Net account separate from my first, and is to be fully disassociated from the first account (that means this account won't touch any of Acc No1's fics with a ten foot pole). The purpose of this account is to post fics that I want to do without any prior expectations from past readers. For now, it's just a SI-fic. Breaking the Mould (A Mass Effect Self Insert, with a Twist) All SI stories, good or bad, tend to have the constant where the SI eventually gets picked to join the Commander's crew, whether it's in ME1/2/3. There are a few deviations from this, but as a whole the Mass Effect SI-subgenre is pretty solid on this. He was inserted in the 2130s, before the discovery of the Prothean Ruins. By the time the 2170s rolled by, he was well into his early sixties. By the time the 2180s began, he was already in his seventies, with no place on the Normandy. Mass Effect: Rogue Empire Relay 314 never got activated. Human expansion towards Council Space was halted by the destruction of their scouting flotilla that opened Relay 896, the Relay that led to the Shadow Sea Cluster. With its forces on high alert, and a Quick Response Flotilla dispatched with a diplomatic team aboard, the Earth Systems Alliance prepares for First Contact. The flotilla is greeted by a significantly larger Terminus Systems-based pirate squadron, which manages to destroy several Alliance warships before they retreat back through the Relay. Unaware of the criminal nature of the first extraterrestrials they have met, the Alliance begins to wage their first interstellar conflict. The First Contact War has begun. (A variation of the AU First Contact fics, with Humanity encountering the Terminus Systems instead of the Citadel races. The Alliance will obviously have a significantly different experience than they would have had fighting the Turians.) |
