Hello Everyone!

About Me: If you’re looking at this, I guess it means you’re interested in me. I’m an aspiring writer. I hope to one day write YA fantasy/supernatural fiction. I’m very critical of my own work. I could spend days editing a piece and still not be completely happy with it. I guess some people would call that a perfectionist?

The things that I look for in a good novel are relatable characters and amazing dialogue. However, believable dialogue is something that I struggle with myself. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder!

I’ve read a lot of fanfiction in the past, but I’m really enjoying writing it now. I know a couple of authors, most notably Cassandra Clair, started out writing fanfiction before moving on to actual novels. I’m a firm believer that writing fanfiction really helps you find your creative voice. Although some people think that writing it is worthless, I think as long as you’re writing, what does it matter?

I try to write every day. Whether it’s in a journal or just jotting ideas down for a story, I love to write.

I’m an avid redditor, if you couldn’t tell by some of the things I write. I’m always amazed when you hear stories about reditors banding together regardless of the country they live in to support a cause. It really demonstrates the all-encompassing power of the internet.

What I'm Reading: Right now I’m reading Delirium by Lauren Oliver, and so far I absolutely love it! It reminds me a lot of the Hunger Games, which was incredible. I’m really getting into post-apocalyptic YA novels. I also just finished George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, so if my writing is a little dark, you should all know why. If you are struggling creating believable character or dialogue I would suggest reading that series immediately. His character creation through dialogue is impeccable, and I only dream about being so talented.

Books: The types of books I read vary A LOT. I've read everything from Homer to Salman Rushdie. I find that I gravitate more towards Fantasy/Supernatural books though. So I guess I'll just list my favorites by categories. Literature: Frankenstein, Don Quixote, Breakfast of Champions, Things Fall Apart, Midnight's Children, Everything is Illuminated Fantasy: LOTR, A Song of Ice and Fire, The Sword of Truth; YA: Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, The Mortal Instruments/ Infernal Devices, Delirium, Graceling. There are a lot more, and if you ever need any suggestions on I good book just ask me!

TV: I watch a lot of Netflix. Some of my suggestions for TV shows, if you haven’t watched them yet are Arrested Development, 30 Rock, Dexter, Weeds, and Breaking Bad. They are all incredible shows with the some of the best writing and plot development out there!

Well I guess that’s all I can tell you about myself. I hope you found this interesting/helpful!
