Let's see...about myself.

I'm shy, I don't know how to organize myself, and my time is spent at my local comics store, sitting in a rusty chair with a book in my hands, playing video games or in front of my living room television.

My favorite brand of fiction is pulp. Or is it pulpy? I love the world of hard-boiled fiction and noir. The rough around the edges, convoluted, dark, cynical road of shady people, shadier dames, and a world of double crossing and betrayal.

I love comics. Maybe a bit too much. My favorite is All-Star Superman. I idolize Grant Morrison. I love the Question with a passion and wish to DC that they'd reboot his series. I'm set on getting all of the Crisis storyline and hope that one day I'll find a copy of Zen and Violence in a used section somewhere unexpected.

Movies are my life. I want to be the next Billy Wilder. But with the way Hollywood is now, that isn't happening. My favorite movies are Double Indemnity, The Apartment, Sweet Smell of Success, L.A. Confidential and the Thin Man. I'm also currently in love with Japanese film. Currently with the work of Seijun Suzuki, Akira Kurosawa, and Yasujiro Ozu.

Well, I love pulp, and pulpy fiction is a dead giveaway. Aside from film noir, I love to read about Philip Marlowe, the Continental Op, and James Ellroy's L.A. Quartet. But mostly the adventures written by Raymond Chandler. Outside of hard-boiled fiction, I love F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, Agatha Christie, and probably a slew of others that I'm forgetting at the moment.

I can't say I'm an obsessive music fan. I really like Swing & Big Band. Tommy Dorsey is my favorite. The style of croooning is largely missing from today's music, sadly.

I try to act like Jimmy Stewart on an everyday basis. Act and treat people like a gentleman. Walk straight, talk normally, and take my hat off in the presence of a lady.
