![]() Author has written 2 stories for Twilight, and Avatar. Hmm.. so I'm supposed to write a bit about myself here. Let's see, I'm 38 years old (eeps), I'm a network planning, firebreathing, lesbian, single, geekish, gaming, maker redhead who's way too tall and suffers from a reading addiction. idea's that are floating around my head, for possible twilight fanfics: 1: Kristen Steward has just come out as a lesbian in the real world. During acting for Twilight the Movie she gets transported into the Twilight world. So now we have a lovesick Edward who's love interest isn't interested in him anymore. We got Kirsten walking around at first thinking its a practical joke from her co-actors, but she'll have to deal with living amongst real vampires. She'll have a crush on Alice, who's still matched up with Jasper and finally, she'll have way too much knowledge of whats going to happen (and more of a backbone then the original Bella did). This one is picked up by WhiteWolfie3000 and can be be found under the title of: "Thrown Into The Twilight Ocean Without a Manual" 2: Bella is fed up with Edward continuously pushing the conversation of her change to "later". They return from Italy and Bella will not believe that he actually loves as long as their love has an expiration date. 3: Jake kisses Bella in New Moon, she struggles but he doesn't let go, she hits him and he laughs in her face as she breaks her hand on him. I don't know, but that always felt a might bit too much like rape to me. What if Bella wouldn't forgive Jake? What if she'd actually frame him into confessing what happened on tape. Her father is the chief of police after all. Charlie gets involved in the supernatural world a lot earlier, and this action gets him a lot more pro-Edward then he was in the books. idea's 2 and 3 might be mixed into one story i guess, where she develops the backbone in 3 to do what is needed in 2. 4: (actually, this is an avatar fanfic, not twilight) Jake had a sister instead of a brother. Most of the storyline will remain the same, yes (s)he'll still get together with Neytiri, but a lot will be focussed on Jake having repressed TG feelings all his life, not even admitting to himself. Why was Jake such a badass marine? he tried to proof to himself that he actually was male, pushing himself further and further, slowly killing his own spirit as he does everything he considers stereotypically male. When he gets the Avatar offer he feels both very insulted that they offer it to him, and strangely intrigued. Ok.. Something else entirely. I know this is old news and such, but it's been annoying me for a while. Even though I would've preferred Bella falling for Alice instead (I mean, have you seen those two together? come on!), giving up her humanity for her love was supposed to be a very bad love story, and ginny/harry was such an example of how it should've been. I mean.. read that last line again would you? Here, I'll help. Ginny/Harry was an example of how it should've been. Harry.. The-Boy-Who-Hates-To-Be-Famous (and hates to be hyphenated) falls in love with the number one fangirl. Sure she tries to become his "friend" later on, but still with the goal of bagging the boy who lived. She is everything he detests about fame, but because she single mindedly went after him she got him in the end. I'm not buying it. Arthur needed some help in the form of a love potion to love Molly. They don't quite come out and say it, but how could Ginny/Harry have happened without a love potion? I have no clue to be honest. On that same vein, how did Hermoine/Ron happen without a serious dose of love potions? Hermoine the smartest which of her age being forced into the role of, well, Molly. Cause can you see Ron ever doing that part of the household and chores? I can not. Even J.K. Rowling has eventually admitted that Ron and Hermoine should not have gotten together. So a better love story than twilight? Hell no. Now Harry/Hermoine, yes, that would've been a better love story. Those two are on equal yet different footing, complementing each other nicely. She has the knowledge, tact and planning abilities, he has the raw power and quick thinking when in a stressful situation. But isn't a great love story about being blinded by love? Look at Romeo and Juliet for example. The most romantic love story ever, yet what a bunch of fuckwits they are, killing themselves, poisoning themselves when they think the other's dead. I am nowhere near claiming that Twilight is a GOOD love story. It's entertaining. There is also so much wrong with the plot that each and every fanfic writer has tried their best to improve on it. The two things I hate most about Twilight? Edward and Jacob. And no, thats not just because I want to see Bella/Alice. Bella/Jasper also make awesome stories. Because Jasper is an empath, and actually LISTENS to what Bella wants. Anyway, rant over. Twilight is not an awesome love story. Neither is Harry Potter though. But I guess that is why I love fanfiction about them. Fixing the writers wrongs. Love, Amber Talamasca |
