![]() Author has written 5 stories for One Tree Hill, and Twilight. So I figure I should write something here, since it seems people are actually looking at my profile page! :) I am a female who currently lives in Las Vegas, NV. I've moved around a lot for being as young as I am. No, my parents weren't in the military or anything. In fact, most of my childhood I lived in Tucson, AZ, but once I graduated high school I've moved around from San Diego, CA to Virginia Beach, VA to Wilmington, NC (home of One Tree Hill) back to San Diego, CA and now to Las Vegas, NV. I like experiencing new things. I sort of thrive on it. If I'm honest, One Tree Hill has sort of shaped what my life is today, which is probably why I have such a tie to writing fanfiction for it. So on September 23, 2003 almost exactly two months before my 18th birthday, I decided to see what this new show the WB was gonna start showing was all about and from the very first second, I was pretty much enthralled. This spurred me to join message boards and talk to other people who had watched. I became obsessed, finding out as much as I could about it and began to write fan fiction. Along the way I made friends with a girl who was a couple years older than me who lived in Virginia Beach, VA. We talked online and wrote stories together and in July 2004 decided to meet. There was going to be a concert in Los Angeles (at the time I was living in San Diego) which would feature Gavin DeGraw, Bryan Greenburg, Bethany Joy Lenz, and others from our favorite TV show, One Tree Hill. This might sound crazy to a lot of people. Believe me, it sounded crazy to her mom and to my mom, both of which had to just take our word that we weren't actually crazy. Even when I tell the story now people go "what?". So anyway my friend from Virgnia Beach flew out to San Diego to spend four days with me and my family and although we had never met, immediately when she arrived it was like we had known each other forever. We were best friends from the start. We went to the "One Tree Hill" concert together and we had a great time, both of us falling in love with Bryan Greenberg. By the time her trip was over she had decided without a doubt she wanted to move to California and went back to Virginia Beach on a mission to convince her mom that it would be a good idea. With my new best friend back in Virginia Beach, I was on a mission to see if anyone had been able to get pictures of Bryan Greenberg from the concert we had attended. Since the venue didn't allow cameras, we had not been able to get any, so I had to find out if anyone had. Luckily for me, someone from the Gavin DeGraw message boards had indeed been able to get a picture of him, with her and Gavin DeGraw, at the concert afterparty. She told me I could have it and I was ecstatic. Her kindness spurred a friendship between us and guess what, today, she is my best friend in the whole world! But now I'm getting ahead of myself. So my friend from Virginia Beach was convincing her mom that it would be a good idea for her to move to California with me, but her mom wasn't convinced. She didn't want to send her only daughter all the way across the country to live with someone she didn't know at all. So she decided that before she would let her daughter move in with me, I should go move in with them. I wasn't doing anything in San Diego so I gladly accepted and there I went, at age 19, in February of 2005, across country to the east coast where I had never been to live with my friend and her mom in Virginia Beach, VA. We got jobs and began to save up money so that we would be able to move to Los Angeles when we went back to California, since my friend wanted to go to USC film school. It took us a little bit longer than expected and so while we were still there, we decided it would be fun to drive the five hours from Virginia Beach, VA to Wilmington, NC so we could see where our favorite TV show was filmed. The perfect opportunity came to do this when my family came to visit us in Virginia during April, 2005. The drive down was pretty uneventful but when we made it to the town, a list of set locations and an internet map of Wilmington in our hands, we were set. We parked in downtown and began walking. It was only a few hours later when my friend and I declared we were in love. Forget California, we wanted to move to Wilmington, NC. And move to Wilmington, NC we did. We moved into our new apartment on June 15, 2005 and thus began my life in the most beautiful place I have ever lived. It was cool that One Tree Hill was filmed there. I sort of got a hands on experience at seeing what it was like to live in the town that Tree Hill is based on. I worked at a store in the mall where they shot an episode of the show which was amazing. I got to watch them blow up Dan Scott's dealership when they were filming the episode where his dealership was set on fire with him inside. I had to walk by everyday the "store" in the mall where Brooke worked. We used to drink coffee at Port City Java across the street from "Karen's Cafe" and walked the hallways of Cape Fear College which they used as Tree Hill High School. I worked at Blockbuster where "Mouth" came to rent his movies and right after Bethany Joy Lenz turned Bethany Joy Galleoti got married, she and her husband even came in. It was so much fun! I guess the moral of the story is that anything, and I mean ANYTHING, can change your life in ways that you would never imagine. A simple TV show like One Tree Hill honestly shaped my life. It changed who I was, who I am, and made me who I will be. I love writing One Tree Hill fanfiction, specifically The New Girl, which I have been writing since Season 1. I wrote it, finished it, wrote a sequel and then went back and said "I don't like how this ended up." so I erased it all, and wrote it again. Now it's a done and the sequel is up to, called Home Is Where My Heart Is. Oh! My favorite ships are none. I don't have any that I like over others really. I used to love the idea of Lucas and Peyton but I'm not pleased with the way it's playing out in Season 6. I liked Brooke and Lucas for about 3 episodes and then they screwed that up too, so I stopped liking them. Nathan and Haley were adorable in the early days, and then they became cliche. I guess I did like Peyton and Jake together, but that could be because I love Jake aka Bryan Greenberg. I want him to come back. That would make me happy. I guess because I don't like any of the pairings they have or have had on the show is the reason I tend to create original characters to pair them with instead. I also read some Gilmore Girls fanfiction but although I watch a ton of different shows now, I still find myself mostly just drawn to One Tree Hill fanfiction although I have just recently found myself completely and madly in love with all things Twilight, so I am expanding into that fandom. :) Anyway, I'll quit rambling now. Thanks for reading! |
