One of the many universes that branched off of the universe designated as #18 was Universe 23 where upon seeing his son from the future have his life taken away from him by the rejuvenated Cell, Vegeta's mind snaps. In a blast of blind emotional rage, Vegeta erupts in fury and reveals to everyone witnessing that the prince has ascended once more.
