When Vegeta and Kakarot are sent to Earth to eradicate all life, they are met with an already purged planet and one survivor, a young girl who seems traumatized by recent events. Deciding to return home, they bring the girl and learn of a new enemy as well as facing their tyrannous king.

Stranded on Earth after the events on Namek and with nowhere else to go, Vegeta accepts Bulma's invitation to live with the Briefs family and gets far more than he ever bargained for. Over four years he struggles with culture shock, socializing, psychological turmoil, pushing his training to new limits, and increasingly complex feelings for the woman and family that took him in.

Fires are destructive; they can be detrimental in the lives of man. Vegeta knows this better than anyone, and the burning home of Bulma Briefs serves as a cruel reminder. Sympathizing with the now homeless woman, Vegeta takes her in, and suddenly his crumbling life changes forever.
