"The Eighth Hunter"

This is my very first story and I do plan on making something big out of it!

So, why did I decide to write it?

Well, I really enjoyed "The Seven Hunters", written by The Amazing Rhombus, and his sequel "Songs of the Hunters", which is still in the making so far. Obviously, I'm a fan of "Land Before Time" as well. So I decided to create something taking place in that storyline. But as much as I love dinosaurs and the whole "Land Before Time" universe, I'm not the kind of guy that takes massive joy in writing an over-the-top peaceful story. Writing about the leaf-eater gang constantly defeating "mean" sharpteeth would not be my kind of thing.

However, Rhombus created a whole new viewpoint. A whole new universe. A universe, in which sharpteeth are not universally cruel, heartless murderers anymore, but rather normal living beings with feelings and a culture. Just that they have to kill the leaf-eaters to survive. We get that picture in the original LBT stuff as well, but I always felt it comes short in some way. And since I love theropods and especially carnivorous dinos, I felt right at home there. I wanted to write a story, taking place in that universe, myself. But I also wanted to create something different. Something that does not completely fit into it, but is also not out of place.

And that is "The Eighth Hunter", the story about an outsider who does not belong anywhere and has seemingly lost everything he ever knew. But can he start over? How will he cope with his drastic change in lifestyle? Can he start a new life in a new time with new friends? Or will he fall into an abyss of painful memories and suffering?
