Author has written 3 stories for Sweeney Todd. I have written fanfiction on and off for about five years (mostly with Harry Potter, but loooong time ago I wrote some awful Buffy the Vampire Slayer stuff). Read: none of my old fanfiction should ever be seen by human eyes. :P My current stories are all Sweeney Todd related, and I'm having a lot of fun with them: The Caged Bird Sings: My first ST fic, and one that I'm very proud of. It delves into the mind of Johanna and follows the events during and after Sweeney Todd, with some brief mentions of her life before it as well. I was disappointed at how shallow Johanna and Anthony were made in the movie (though, in retrospect, the movie just made them more like the original, silly portrayals rather than the revival's more serious ones), so this story makes them a bit more serious and realistic. Damaged: A one-shot about Lucy Barker and why she decided to commit suicide. Though I did love the movie, I'm disappointed at how many movie-only fans seem to unabashedly love Mrs. Lovett and despise Lucy. I wrote this to make them both appear a little more human; ie. Mrs. Lovett is not entirely innocent, but she's not a total monster, and Lucy is not the strongest of characters, but she isn't totally weak. The Dark I Know Well: An idea that I've had for a long time, but was very tentative about. Basically, I wanted to write about what would have happened if Johanna were already married to the Judge before Sweeney and Anthony enter the picture. I'm enjoying writing most of it, because I've never done something so unabashedly dark, but I'm a little unsure about some of the Johanna/Turpin scenes. This is also the first story where I'm writing about Sweeney, Lovett, and Turpin in depth. |
