WARNING!! DH SPOILERS IN PROFILE!!

Hi! Sorry to anyone who came looking for fics; I'm more of a reader than a writer. I don't have the patience to fact-check with the HP Lexicon, so...very unlikely that I'll ever write anything worthwhile.

I am a devoted fan of everyone's favorite Potions Master, and I am extremely disappointed in JKR. Every time I re-read DH I want to take my hardcover edition and thwack her about the head and shoulders with it. Vigorously. And at length. I mean...really? You couldn't come up with anything better than that? Years and years of servitude to try and atone for bad judgement as a child, and you reward him for his devotion with and ending like THAT?? Rowling, you BITCH!!

DH is why I have become a such a huge fan of fan-fic. I started reading fan-fic in 2002 or so, and thought some of it was pretty good, and it kept me occupied in that horrible wasteland between books. Now, since the travesty that was Deathly Hallows, It has served to lessen my disappointment at the fate of certain characters. primarily Snape, but Lupin and Tonks as well.

To be honest, when I first stumbled over a Snape/OC fic, I thought to myself, "oh, good Lord, this is gonna suck!" And a lot of it does, in fact, suck. If we're being honest, a lot of it sucks quite hard. But then...there are those fics which show not only talent, but flashes of brilliance, and those are what make it all worth while. Actually, let me clarify; flashes of brilliance, along with my man Severus getting alternate endings to his story make it worth while. 'Cuz let's be real, people; Severus Snape is the perfect man. Tall, dark & snarky...mmmmmm. And JKR screwed him over, but good. Bad JKR!!!

So...this being said, I'm always interested in Snape/OC stories. I also like Severus/Lily. Which is what should have been...if Lily had just accepted his damn apology!! And if he wasn't so gullible as to believe in a madman. And I hold James and Sirius primarily responsible for pushing him down the road to perdition...but that's a debate for another forum. "If only." Two of the saddest words in the English language. Or any language...

I'll read Harry/Sev slash, but there's got to be more than random shagging going on, and NEVER with Harry underage. That's just...NASTY. When it comes to a relationship between Snape and Harry, I much prefer a mentor-type thing, or a Severitus, or Sevitus, or whatever they're being called this week. I'm not overly fond of Snape/Granger, and I don't know why, because I have read a couple of good ones. Loathe the thought of Harry/Ron, and Snape/Sirius is just flat out wrong. Snape/Lupin is accceptable. Smut is always good, but it must not be pointless smut. If you don't know the difference between appropriate smut, and pointless smut-for-the-sake-of-smut, you're probably writing the latter. Not good. Stop it. Now, please! Unless it's really good smut. None of that "My Immortal" type shite.

SO...If anyone knows of decent, well-written, character driven fics (Snape/OC, Snape/Lily, Snape/Harry mentor or Severitus) that aren't listed in my faves, please message me with a recommendation, and you will be rewarded. Not with anything material, because I am poor, but you will be rewarded by the thought of performing a good deed for a fellow member of the human rat race. And that should be reward enough in and of itself. So there.
