5/23/17 -- Update to this thing after about 2 years, wowza.

Hey there everyone, name's Gene. I'm a fiction writer who's really into romantic stories (as you can see lol), and discovered a few years ago that Betty x Jughead is clearly the OTP. Never thought I'd actually start writing Bughead stories, but I'm glad I did because it's been really fun.

As for other things I'm into, I'm really fond of old & new movies alike that have a timeless quality to them (and preferably ones with romance). My favorites include: Witness for the Prosecution, Singing in the Rain, The Secret Garden, The Apartment, and especially The Year My Voice Broke. I also love anime such as One Piece, Hunter x Hunter 2011, Karin, Death Note, Parasyte and Samurai Champloo.

Me fave types of books are weird sorts of fantasy, and the occasional high fantasy romp with macguffins galore. I used to be completely into the YA genre until I started to look at what I was reading more critically and reevaluate what I truly liked/disliked. There's still some great YA fiction being written, I think it just suffers from "popular syndrome", i.e. putting thrills over substance. Or the writing is just kinda bad. Okay, I'm starting to go on a tangent, lemme stop.

Oh, and I love rock music, my fave band right now is probably Dance Gavin Dance, they're an excellent blend of pop and screamo cuz I'm quite the brooding romantic.

Also, shoutout to Drowning Octopus for inspiring me to write about Bughead, you cool.

I used to have ideas for other fics and series, but the passion for them has sorta waned. I'd be down to write about Death Note or even Oyasumi Punpun (damn that's a crazy manga), but I'm highly doubtful. I think for some things, I just prefer to read about it than actually try my hand at crafting a story about it.
