Completed projects: Battle Tournament My Adventure with Olimar Super Smash Bros Survivor* My Adventure with MoemonFuture projects: My Adventure with Moemon: Story 3 DominionSPOILERS FOR SUPER SMASH BROS SURVIVOR BELOW. PLEASE AVOID READING IF YOU HAVENT COMPLETED THE STORY I'm going to speak about my thought progress regarding the winner just in case anyone is interested. Stories should be self-contained with no author input, hence why I'm including this in my profile rather than the story itself. People who are interested are just a single click away, while people who don't care can simply read the story without immersion-breaking interruptions. The first twenty eliminations were decided extremely early, with the order switched a bit to keep the story's development appropriate for certain characters. The only interesting things here were the last two eliminations - Samus and Popo - whose eliminations were not going to switch. Samus to give an impression that even the Tribe Leaders aren't safe and Popo because he was such an enjoyable character to write, but he had to go. I'm happy with how Popo turned out and how his eliminations was so different that, despite everything, it felt bittersweet. Ness was a character who I had planned on surviving much longer, but then I decided that Lucario would be a major player, so he had to eliminate someone important to show his power. Snake, Mario, and Mewtwo were all planned on being eliminated much sooner, but they survived because as I was writing the story I decided to make a spreadsheet showing how many times I mentioned each character by name. After seeing the results and seeing - surprisingly - that these three for the majority of the story were among the top mentioned characters, I felt they should survive even longer. Snake only lasted a couple of chapters longer, but Mario and Mewtwo were not going to survive the top ten. Lucario is one of my favorite characters I've ever written. However, from the beginning, he never could have won. He played the game well, and for that reason it just wouldn't be satisfying. He quickly became a great villain, and a villain winning Survivor isn't as interesting as an underdog. Of course, that statement is just funny considering who actually won, but at least that person can't really be considered much of a villain by the end. The first winner - something I had decided ages ago - was going to be Yoshi of all people. He felt like a good underdog, a nice guy who just wanted to play the game. But then I grew bored with the idea and wanted the winner to be a surprise even to me. Thus, Yoshi was eliminated in Mario's place, and Mario survived into the top ten. The next winner would've been Pit. Lucario would've been eliminated after 8 - betrayed by his alliance as he had expected - but then Marth wouldn't have survived because he would've been gone next or so. So to keep Marth alive, the alliance broke in another way, and so Fox took Lucario's place, and the story progressed with Pit taking a leadership role. And leaders never last in Survivor. I do regret Yoshi and Samus' character changes. They were admittedly fairly rushed and didn't feel organic. Lucario is maddening to face, but I don't know if he's that maddening. Same with the Kongs. I kind of had hints in the beginning as to their strategies, but I should've been more direct before the big reveals. Furthermore, I wish I had Link and King Dedede speak more. Link never really had much of a personality, and King Dedede's personality wasn't fleshed out enough. I feel like if I had made them more interesting, they would've lasted a lot longer. I also wish I hadn't kept the silent characters silent. Giving Pikachu such a snarky personality was refreshing. Granted, I don't know if the ones who couldn't speak actually could've won, but they would've had a better shot. So yeah, those are some of my thoughts regarding the process of writing the story. I never really had much of an order. Only for the next few eliminations, which was altered and updated as I wrote. A lot of players lasted longer than they should because they were interesting to write, but that came at the cost of others. A lot of characters were never fleshed out. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the seven year project, and I'm glad to move on to other things. END SPOILERS.
