born April 24, 1975, in Jersey Town, New Jersey. His father, Maurice Luke, is a native of Guyana who had formerly labored as an actor in London, and his mother, Marjorie Dixon, is a pianist. Luke's mom and father divorced when he was only in the 3rd grade, and Luke, along with his two brothers, ended up elevated principally by their mom. But, Dixon struggled to make ends meet on her musician's wage, and the household moved repeatedly amongst Jersey City's difficult and impoverished neighborhoods.
