Set shortly after Jane falls ill upon going to Netherfield Park, Elizabeth follows and injures herself on the way, only to be rescued by one Mr. Darcy. A divergence of the events in the original Pride and Prejudice.

Lizzy has been bestowed with the family "gift", yet it is not one that she can openly admit to having. The new comers at Netherfield are much more perceptive than she had anticipated. Will they figure out her secret? How will they react? How will she react?

Mr. Darcy's world turns on its head as he discovers at the Netherfield ball that he has misjudged everyone's motives: Mr. Wickham is more honorable, Miss Bingley more conniving, and Miss Elizabeth more resentful than he'd given any of them credit for.

As suggested in the title of Jane Austen's original work, Darcy's greatest failing is pride. His passionate love for Elizabeth only mitigates this character flaw, resulting in the awful proposal at Hunsford. If happenstance forced Darcy to marry Elizabeth before he loved her, or even knew her at all, would he ever be able to get past his pride to recognise his fortune?

Ten years have passed since Darcy's disastrous marriage proposal to Elizabeth Bennet. Despite the regrets they both came to feel, they moved on with their lives. Now Elizabeth Fitzwilliam is returning to England a widow, and there may be a chance of rekindling a lost love.

This little one shot that came to me in a dream, and yes it will remain a one shot as I have too many other projects that require finishing.
