![]() Author has written 30 stories for Avengers, Lord of the Rings, Thor, and Silmarillion. Hi All, My name is Jess. Like all of you, I love fanfiction and dabble in many different fandoms. I have written stories for two, Marvel, and Tolkien. RANT: I have a love/hate relationship with Plot Bunnies (yes, I use capital letters). They either give me brilliant ideas that I read over later and go 'wow, I wrote that? It's genius!' Or they go on strike at an important bit of the story and I'm stuck on a scene for months. Grrrrrrrr… My Avengers stories centre around the character of Clint Barton/Hawkeye, and are not being continued at this point. My Lord of the Rings stories mainly Choices and Second Chances (CSC) Universe (Marvel) stories and Mercy-Verse (Silmarillion) stories are posted on AO3 under the same username, AustralianRanger012. At this point, most of my LOTR stuff is only on Fanfiction. I adore bromance like a hobbit adores second breakfast. That will come through in my writing because characters (especially males) having close non-sexual relationships is something I love. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside every time. None of my writings are slash, and any male/male relationships that may come through are intended to be platonic. One final note. I will always try and finish a story before I start posting (or at least have most of it done, and a clear line of sight to the end) so the Plot Bunnies holidays will not interfere with any story of mine that you are following. Any multi-chaptered story I post will be finished. Eventually. So, if I haven't updated a story in a while, please review/send me a PM. Summaries of my stories and direct links to them all are below. Choices and Second Chances Universe Stories (Discontinued) (stories on this list are in chronological order, or as close as I could put them to chronological order) Clint Barton was dead, his life story from beginning to end stained red with blood. Hawkeye the assassin was a name feared by all who heard it. The man behind the name was slowly drowning in darkness, until one person decided to change that by giving him two things he’d never had before; a choice, and a chance to live.*CSC Universe* Hawkeye origin story First story in the Choices and Second Chances Universe Pre-Avengers, Pre-SHIELD, no-slash Complete The Classified Files: To recruit or to kill? Fury has his ways of getting information about people. He also has a lot of secrets. He is the Master Spy, and you'll do well to remember that.*One-shot*CSC Universe*. Takes place during chapter 9 of Shades of Red and Black, but can stand alone. Snippet in Fury's point-of-view. Complete Recruited into SHIELD by Agent Phil Coulson and Director Fury himself Clint Barton, aka the assassin Hawkeye, knows this is his second chance to do something good with his life. However, in an agency full of spies there are many secrets and Clint is unwittingly drawn into playing their game. Is our archer up to the challenge?*CSC Universe* Second story in the Choices and Second Chances Universe Sequel to Shades of Red and Black Pre-Avengers, no-slash Complete Takes place during Fractured Trust, but can stand alone. Clint's first Christmas with SHIELD doesn't go smoothly. Phil starts to realise that working with Clint is going to be even harder than he imagined to begin with, due to the archer's secrets. *CSC Universe*One-shot* Complete Clint Barton may have finally stopped running, but his problems are far from over. As his SHIELD training continues under Agent Coulson, Clint struggles to cope with the guilt of his past deeds. Phil just wishes that his agent would trust him so that he could help carry the burden. Meanwhile, all is not well at SHIELD. *CSC Universe* Sequel to Secrets and Spies Complete Clint didn't want to be sent on this assignment. He would much rather stay in New York, and watch Natasha's back while she spied on/babysat the billionaire Tony Stark. He thought going with Coulson to the middle-of-nowhere New Mexico would be boring. He was very wrong. Thor movie tie-in. Clint's POV. *CSC Universe* Complete Old Fics Archive This is a tag I put on stories that I wrote/started writing/stopped writing years ago. They are all Avengers/Marvel related, and are abandoned ideas/unfinished concepts/odd chapters of unfinished stories. Each one stands alone. But, I decided, to make it easier for me, to put them all under one tag. Will be updated and expanded as I find and post old stories. Avengers/Bourne Legacy crossover idea. What if Clint Barton and Aaron Cross were the same person? And what if SHIELD was sent to take out Aaron Cross, but he survived? Short prologue to a story I abandoned years ago. Part of my Old Fics Archive. Complete Time and Patience Heals all Sorrows Avengers!AU Roman!AU Stand alone One-shot. A long overdue talk between Patrician Phil Coulson, and his newly acquired slave Clint. Takes place in First Century Roman Empire. Bruce mentioned. Platonic relationships. Old Fics Archive. Complete My first Lord of the Rings story, The Foundling Prince, was a spontaneous idea I indulged at the time, not thinking it would last. Turns out, people loved it. It ended up being twenty-five chapters long, and spawned a separate story of Outtakes. I plan on writing another story in this Universe at some point, a Prequel about how Thranduil and his wife met, fell in love, and married. In the meantime, links to the already written stories are below. AU, follows movie canon events. Many years before the One Ring made its presence known in Middle Earth, a golden-blond haired, bright-blue eyed elfling was found abandoned in the Forests of Mirkwood by an Elvenking grieving the recent deaths of his wife and son. This is the story of that elfling, Legolas Thranduilion, adopted son of King Thranduil, told through one and two-shots Complete A dumping ground for abandoned ideas, unfinished scenarios, deleted scenes, extra scenes and chapters that simply did not fit into the flow of my main story, The Foundling Prince. Many chapters may not make sense if you haven't read it, and there will also be spoilers for that story. In progress indefinitely. Tales from Mirkwood series In this Alternate Lord of the Ring's Universe, Thranduil has eight children, three daughters-in-law, three grandchildren, and has been married twice. The logistics are explained as we go through. These stories will be funny, happy, sad, heart-wrenching, heart-warming, and everything in between. Ratings will vary, but nothing will be above a T. The order the completed stories are listed in here is the chronological order (or as near as I could make it), not the order in which they were written or posted. Long before Thranduil was the King of Mirkwood, he was just one of many young elves living in the late elven kingdom of Doriath. However, looks can be deceiving, and he was not as similar to the other elves as he appeared. Takes place First Age. (Thranduil) Complete (for now) What do you get when you mix an elfling with a sound knowledge of chemistry, his mischievous little sister, a prank war with his cousin, and an older brother getting caught in the cross-fire? Read on to find out! Drabble set in an Alternate LOTR Universe. One-shot. (Thranduil, Belegon, Legolas, Lothwen) Complete Oropher babysits his youngest grandson. One-shot. (Legolas, Oropher, Thranduil, Tathardis) Complete Thondir goes shopping in a human market, and discovers some humans do have good ideas. one-shot. (Thondir, Tathardis, Tulusdis, Lanthirwen, Tordir, Legolas, Lothwen, Aeweth, Garavon) Complete In the ruins of the battle of Dagorlad, a son loses a father, another father saves his son, and a future great Elven Lord learns a powerful secret. One-shot. (Thranduil, Belegon, Golwendir, Elrond) Complete The battle may be over, but it will take a lot longer for those left behind to recover. Two-shot. Takes place post-Battlefield. (Thranduil, Garavon, Braigneth, Tathardis, Legolas, Lothwen) Complete You should never mess with Thranduil or his family. Especially his family. One-shot. (Thranduil, Golwendir, Legolas, Lothwen, Garavon) Complete A peaceful, fluffy interlude with Thranduil and his wife. one-shot. (Thranduil, Tathardis) Complete You should not pull a humiliating prank on wood elves if you don't want it handed back with interest. One-shot. (Thranduil, Belegon, Tordir, Legolas, Lothwen, Tathardis, Coliel, Celebiel, Elrond, Elladan, Elrohir) Complete Just a few snapshots of daily happenings in Mirkwood during the Third Age. One-shot. (Calithildis, Lanthirwen, Coliel, Celebiel, Helegion, Braigneth) Complete When Helegion is twenty-five years old, his father tells him of his family's legacy. One-shot. (Thranduil, Helegion, everyone else mentioned) Complete An explanation of who's-who of my Mirkwood Family, as seen through Bilbo's eyes. One-shot. (Bilbo) Complete Elu Thingol was not the only elf to fall in love with one of the Maiar, nor was he the only elf to have a child with her. Maia heritage ran in the veins of more than one elvish bloodline, even if only a few knew it. And the Maia are powerful, something the Royal Family of Mirkwood is all too aware of. Multi-chaptered. Everyone (plus some new characters) appears at some point. Takes place over three Ages. Complete The following stories are written, but not posted/quite finished yet. Love at First Sight (multi-chaptered) Summer Days A heatwave hits Imladris. Starring: Glorfindel and his hair. Erestor and his fear of dying from a mortal condition. Elrond trying not to facepalm. Lindir being awesome. Celebrian and Arwen being sensible, and the twins being themselves. Oh, and Imladris gets flooded. Warning: This story is slightly crackish. Complete (This one stands alone. Not necessarily related to anything else I have written) Mercy-Verse (Silmarillion Fanfiction) Currently in-progress A series centred primarily around the character of Mairon/Sauron, exploring a 'what if he'd returned to Valinor at the end of the First Age' scenario. Mostly. AU to end of First Age. What if Sauron returned to Valinor to face the Valar's judgement after the War of Wrath? And what if, during his trial, they discovered his evil deeds had not been done completely of his own volition? Will they condemn him, or, will they show mercy to the one whom betrayed them so long ago? Inspired by AzureSkye23. Mercy-Verse. Complete "As the Noldor listened to the Curse of Mandos, they saw a dark figure. What they never saw was the tears." Námo's thoughts on having to pronounce his Doom to the Noldor leaving Aman, and Vairë's sorrow at having to record these events. Mercy-Verse, but is Silmarillion compliant. Two-shot. Complete Oromë runs into someone he wasn't expecting to see on Middle Earth. Takes place just after the War of Wrath. One-shot. Prequel to Óravassë. Mercy-verse. Complete A series of vignettes about Mairon/Sauron, and his thoughts during the years of Melkor's imprisonment in Valinor. Mercy-Verse. Complete written by CoffeeRanger One-shot based on AustralianRanger012's story "On Angband's Wall." What if, in the final section of that story, Mairon had not seen Melkor arriving? What if Melkor had surprised him? This story explores that idea. (No slash) Complete Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to all the amazing authors out there for giving me the inspiration to take the plunge into the pool of writing fanfiction in the first place!
