`Ello thar, this is Lizzy (aka Raindancer). I am 16 and have been an avid reader and writer since my Kindergarten teacher handed me my first book. Well, probably even before that... I absolutely love to read, and since you can't always get everything you want in the books themselves, I also enjoy reading fanfictions. I haven't actually written much fanfiction- it didn't really appeal to me to write about a character that had already been developed. However, I have recently become re-obsessed with Tonks, Lupin, Sirius, James, and Lily and and realized that characters always have room for more development. I have re-evaluated my stance on writing my own fanfics and may be doing some in the future (even if I'm sticking to reading and reviewing for now).

So, a bit about me.

Some (just some) of my favorite series: Harry Potter (JK Rowling, duh), Lord of the Rings (JRR Tolkien, duh), Dealing with Dragons (Patricia C Wrede), The Great Tree of Avalon (TA Barron), The Lost Years of Merlin (TA Barron), The Books of Pellinor (Alison Croggon), most of Tamora Pierces series (excluding The Circle books, which I haven't read), His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman), Sevenwaters trilogy (Julliet Marillier), the Kiesha'Ra series (Amelia Atwater-Rhodes), and many, many more.

A few favorite movies (with commentary in parenthesis after every single one!): Lord of the Rings (again. Probably the best book-to-movie adaptations ever. Seriously. I am obsessed. And yes, I have watched all 3 extended versions in a row.), A Knight's Tale (Heath Ledger! :'( Knight of my heart...), The Princess Bride (It will never be old. Ever.), The Illusionist (am so frickin jealous of Sophie...), Shakespeare in Love (mmmmmm...), Hunchback of Notredame (Yes, the Disney movie. I am a HUGE Disney freak. I love classic Disney.), Zorro (hehe. Yep. Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Anthony Hopkins.), El Dorado (yeah, another cartoon. I listen to it on youtube while I do my homework. I practically know it by heart. My little sister and I can quote scenes at each other. :D ), and a billion others that you probably don't want me to mention and comment on as well...

Favorite TV Shows: In general, I am sort of against TV (I know, I know, I'm insane, but blame it on my sister sitting around and watching Disney channel nonstop... I swear that stuff has got to do something bad to your head). However, I do have a few shows I watch more or less religiously: the late Lost (brilliant until the last episode, which, apart from the Sawyer/Juliet reunion, was the worst thing I've seen in my life), Glee (I wouldn't call myself a 'Gleek,' but I enjoy the show usually and I have a major thing for Darren Criss. Incase you didn't know, he is Harry in A Very Potter Musical- which you must see on Youtube if you have not already- and he is now Kurt's soon-to-be-boyfriend on Glee), and... um... yeah, that's it. Although I sort of want to watch House and... what's it called... either Castle or Bones... and also I've watched a few episodes of Westwing. Oh, and I thought Pushing Daisies was brilliant and I want to murder whoever took it off the air.

Favorite musical artists: Sarah Mclachlan (all-time fave), Imogen Heap/Frou Frou, Ingrid Michaelson, Blame Sally (my dad's friend's band, all women, check them out), The Fray, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dido, The Beatles, The Eagles, Sting, Enya, Natalie Merchant, Sonya Kitchell. And some other songs: Blood Bank, The Funeral, Bohemian Rhapsody, Drops of Jupiter, Stairway to Heaven, Hallelujah, Hands, Golden Years (recognize it from A Knight's Tale? :D ), Wildfire, Her Morning Elegance, Fidelity, Samson, Because the Night.

Random activities I enjoy (other than reading and writing): playing the cello/guitar/piano, running track (sort of... more like laying down in the grass near the high jump mat and occasionally doing sit-ups due to some injury or another...), trapeze (and other aerial arts. Yes, I am a circus freak), circus stuff in general, wake boarding, being an ex-fencer (Foil beats Epeé and Saber's butts), knitting, eating (yum!), listening to music, laughing, doing anything in the rain, being in or near the ocean, and recently I've become an amateur artist. So, that's me, in a nutshell. I mean, those are some of my defining obsessions (I am a very obsessive person- I go through fazes. :D ).
